Give me Nagy. I’d rather take a shot with someone new and some arena league background then an old has been.

Chiefs had lost 5 of 6 before giving playcalling duties to Nagy. They’ve gone 3-1 with Nagy calling the plays.

Interesting nugget: Chiefs were 1-5 in 2015 with Reid calling plays, then 11-0 afterward when Doug Peterson took over.

Andy Reid never gave up full play calling duties to Doug Pederson, he just let him call plays for a portion of each game.

i know petine is considered a good defensive mind but didnt remember anything else about him other than the browns HC gig. so i looked him up. he was the jets DC during their run a number of years back and runs a legit hybrid with no clear line between 3-4 or 4-3.

a rex ryan like D without rex ryan... sign me up.

nagy/petine ftw

He made the Bills a top 3 defense in his one season in Buffalo.

That'd be a good combo, but I'd really like to see DeFilippo / Pettine. I have nothing against Nagy, but Flip is a QB guru and the more I watch him, the more I think he's got the "it" factor to be a great HC.

I'd be fine with Petine but i'm really starting to think just promoting Ed Donatell to DC would be a great idea. Keep the defensive players comfortable in what they're playing in. Our DB's have played great this year. This guy has been Fangio's DB coach for many years and i think he's ready to be promoted. Of course we're getting a new HC so he'll most likely be fired with the rest of the staff which is too bad.

If the Bears go inexperienced head coach, I think they go with an experienced coordinator on 1 side of the ball at least. I'm assuming the next coach will be an offensive guy. If he feels like he can call plays and run the team overall at the same time, he'll get an experienced DC to run that side. I'd imagine Nagy and guys like Shurmur would be among the guys who would call plays (or at least have a huge say in playcalling). If the next coach feels that he wants to focus more on running the team overall and wants to leave playcalling to a guy he trusts, then I think he'll go after an experienced OC in that case. I feel like LaFleur and DeFilippo would fit this description.

that's a likely combo considering flip was pettine's OC for one season in cleveland. the flip hype is pretty high and will likely be gaining steam, and i can't say that i would be opposed to it.
