Against the Raptors...without Bargnani. I wouldn't get too excited yet.

Our defense is strong forsure. But c'mon man, it was the fucking Raptors. Rasual Butler started for them... They were doomed either way.

The Bulls have the best defense in the league by a long shot...it isn't even funny.....
This should be the year the bulls take back the title....the bulls don't have to be a great scoring team as long as they keep shutting down teams like this...............Even if tonights game was only against the lowly raptors...I can't wait tell we play miami so I can see if they can shut them down too....that will be the real test.

You don't shut those guys down, you can only hope to slow them down.

Against Memphis(without Randolph), Washington, Detroit, Toronto(without Bargnani) and Atlanta(needed a comeback to win).

I'm very happy that they're 12-2, but I know there is still a long way to go and many good teams out there.

Your right , we can't shut down lebron, bosh or wade but we can shut down there team as a whole........

If we can play a little dirty and trip or injure lebitch by elbowing him in the adams apple, would that be considered shutting him down? :troll:

If they are doing this in the playoffs. Then championship. If they are not, its a repeat of last season.

:yep:

But as much as people like to say that we haven't played some teams with out there scorers, ummm, do we have Rip Hamilton out there? What about C.J. Watson? No we don't so I think that argument goes both ways.

That may be true, but speaking strictly defensively for the sake of the OP's statement, that's irrelevant in this discussion.

You guys will hate me, but realistically I don't think we can beat the heat in 7 game series if we can't match there scoring...it doesn't matter how good our defense is, lebron, wade and bosh will get there points.......we need to sign jr smith and a backup bigman or small forward or deng will where himself out before the playoffs ever start.

I agree with you, minus the J.R. Smith part(haha), but the sentiment that we need a big man and some scoring is completely right IMO.

Don't forget they will triple team rose or put lebron on him again just like last year...Brewer will do well defensively, but won't provide that much scoring.
RIP HAMILTON CAN SCORE BUT HIS OLD ASS WILL PROBABLY GET HURT.........I KNOW YOU GUYS ARNT HIGH ON JR SMITH, BUT HIS ATHLETIC SCORING WOULD HELP THE SHIT OUT a great deal.....Especially against a fast paced running athletic heat team..........plus I think he can get under some heat players skin and piss them off, getting them out there game.............JR can even come off the bench as a 6th man...we can start brewer....

As far as a backup bigman, who is available?.....Actually, we need a backup small forward...that is somthing we do not have right now....I worry about deng...he needs a break

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Problem is, JR Smith is insane and can shoot us out of more games than he can shoot us into. Though I guess they'd have to pay more attention to him than Brewer...

As long as Rose passes the ball this time around, unlike last year, the results will be different. No need for him to go 1 on 3 this postseason. The other guys have worked on their games. Let them prove that they can step up. They are not afraid of the Heat like a lot of fans are.

Which let's rose roam free because jrsmith is as athletic and is capable of scoring in all the same ways rose is......

Well, Thibs is so hardwired around defense. There are times when Chicaog might score 34 pts of offense in a half and shoot 28%. Then, when the court reportere talks to him at half time, he'll always say the answer is in playing better defense.

Is Thibodeau ever not happy with the offense as opposed to thinking that the offense is good enough and that more is needed from the defense?

Just like Skiles, he's offensively Special person.
Defense is all he knows, thinks about, dreams about, cares about, eat up and shits out.
His picture should show up first thing when you look up the word defense in wikipedia.
