i never said you had to listen to every freaking song...and again dont mix hip hop and rap..they are different...

i think its ignorant to think its garbage but not have listened to the music much..so if you HAVE listened to the music a bit and think its garbage..thats fine with me...your opinion..but dont make generalizations about music you havent listened too thats what pisses me off

I've listened to a ton of hip-hop and rap. My brother, my dorm experience, hell my entire college experience, I have listened to my fair share. I'm just not a fan. Sorry if that bothers you but it doesn't make me ignorant.

I consider pop rap the rap that's meant to appeal to the masses. It's not always a bad thing...artists like Kanye, Jay-Z, and Lupe can get a hit song while keeping it real.

Eminem is my favorite rapper but I have to admit his first singles usually suck because he's really reaching for the extreme masses and usually get its.

depends what you mean by pop..


honestly, a bit of categorizing music is subjective..in other words, some people consider some music to be one thing while other people consider it to be another..sometimes there really isnt a definite right category for music because it can overlap

i'd say kanye is kind of pop/hip hop

Eh... I don't see the point of trying to say something is hip hop and something is rap. It's the same genre. You ask Common if he's a rapper and he'll say yes. I'd just like to keep it simple and say Common makes a better quality of rap music than say B.o.B. and the like.

Makes sense. I just hate grouping Common in the same category as Soulja Boi when they are entirely different types of rap.

Also as good as Kanye is, I think you could describe that Katy Perry song he did as "pop" juss'sayin.
