He gave up 4 sacks and 34 pressures in 43 college starts. He gave up one sack in 2024 and 10 pressures. I think you really haven’t watched him play too often.
These are stats, not tape. And stats don’t always tell the whole story. Happy to be wrong, just don’t see it with Banks and think Simmons is the better LT prospect.

I’ve probably seen Banks play at least 15 times over the last three years. So my opinion is based on more than stats although the stats are impressive.

No, Hampton is one of the fastest rising players at any position in the draft. Absolutely fits Johnson's offense at 6-0 221 with speed, power and burst. Probably the only position on this offense that can step in day one as a starter. We all know Johnson wants to run the hell out of the ball, may as well take one of the top tier RBs.
Hampton has no latteral movement and gets caught from behind a ton. He's got a good 40 time but drops of quickly. He could be a good bruiser but nowhere near the talent of Jeanty id pass on RB till later in that scenario

I did, and the stats look better than the tape imo. When you watch his tape against Georgia & Ohio St you notice him getting walked into the qb multiple times, he drops his head and lunges towards defenders throwing off his balance, his feet are average to slow. Lots of things that won’t work at the nfl level. I’m happy to be wrong, but I don’t see a top tackle in Banks. I think Simmons will have a better career, but only time will tell.

I’m sure I will watch again before the draft and revisit. I do think be was hurt vs Georgia

I'm definitely down with Grant but i don't think we can come out of this draft without another DE that can rush the passer, unless poles scrapes another $5 - $10 mil out of that 90K for a Mathew Judon or another vet DE.
There should be plenty of second round DEs that fit what Allen wants for his defense. Landon Jackson, Nic Scourton, JT Tuimoloau, Jordan Burch, all should be there in the 2nd.

Two games last year gave him problems, Texas A&M, Georgia, Nic Scourton and Mykel Williams. That's it for the regular season. In the playoffs he played with a bum ankle and gave up nothing.

Green or Pearce Jr
Not that they can't play or will not be first round picks but..................Two guys who absolutely don't fit what Johnson/Allen is looking for in a DE.

You just described David Montgomery, the power back in Johnson's Detroit offense. Hampton has been described as Montgomery with a burst. If Jeanty is at 10 you would take him, but I don't think he will drop that far.

All gone by 10. Who do you draft?
Walk slowly to the podium. Like really drag your feet with small heavy steps. Turn to face the audience, and raise your downcast face of twisted despair.
Let out a primal shout and unsheathe your ancestral dagger, quickly spill your guts in front of millions in the necessary act of seppuku before the camera can cut away.
