I watch it every year with my dad. Since he's from Kentucky, it's a big deal to him & I love the Derby myself. I don't have any $$, so I can't bet, but if I could, I'd put $$ on Daddy Long Legs.

Yeah - the Derby's a big deal to most KY folks.

I'm considering putting money on Take Charge Indy and Alpha.

If the track is wet, I'm going w/El Padrino...that horse rocks when on the outside if the track is slow. If it's dry, gotta go with a favorite...Union Rags.

And if dry, Daddy Nose Best is another sleeper.

I've been in Kentucky for most of my life, but never really have gotten into horse racing much.

Tough to pick.

Bodemeister- 4-1
Union Rags- 9-2
Hansen- 10-1
Gemologist- 6-1
Dullahan- 8-1

Tough tough tough. I'll go with:
Win- Take Charge Indy- 15-1
Place- Hansen- 10-1
Show- Union Rags- 9-2

Can't pick against Calvin Borel, so Take Charge Indy is my pick to click. But don't count the early favorite Bodemeister out. Mike Smith is a top 3 jockey.

Borel pulled up Take Charge Indy (my pick) on the last turn. Was incredibly disappointed because he had the horse in 4th and was on the rail. But I just read Take Charge Indy is now scheduled for surgery to remove a bone chip in its front left ankle.

Highly unlikely that we'll see a triple crown this year though. I don't see I'll Have Another doing it.

Huh. interesting. I had a lot of money on TCI, too...and saw "DQF" and finished in 19th. Guess it just meant, he didn't finish. But, DNF makes more sense than DQF there...

meh, semantics.
