Lightning will use a compliance buyout on Vincent Lecavalier.

Not surprising.

No, not surprising but a drag non the less. Vinnie is a big time guy in the community here. Just not the same guy on the ice.

Avs/Flames trade:

Avs get Tanguay & Sarich
Flames get Jones & O'Brien

When is Forsbergs next return from retirement getting announced... They're making a giant reunion in Colorado.

Seen the Flyers are trying their next hunt for a goaltender, Jaroslav Halak.

@TSNBobMcKenzie: "Not 100 per cent yet but looks like Nathan Horton will NOT be back with BOS. B's talking trade and Tyler Seguin's name has been discussed."

I think everyone here knows what this team needs. The Hawks need a PP QB that can not only handle and pass it well but can also really bring it from the point. I don't know who's out there but its a need now. Right NOW. If they're going after any veteran help, thats where it should be. If this team has an Achilles Heel, its that damn PP and I can't see anyway they can succeed again like this year unless it's addressed.

Yet Gillis keeps his job. I'm beginning to see what the guys on the Canucks forum were talking about. BTW, about 90% of them were pulling for the Hawks in the Finals...they must REALLY hate Boston.

What a terrible contract that was. Makes me even happier that the Hawks have Stan running things when I think of what GMs hand out to some guys. Kinda like Letang getting 7.25 million per year for eight years...

Yeah really... I mean anyone could see that coming when it happened. . . and to think they also had signed Alexei Yashin to some stupid level contract as well ... nice track record- is there something in the water on Long Island?

I think they are still paying Yashin, too.

Gotta love the Islanders.

For that kind of money the Hawks could have had him instead of Bickell if Vinny wanted to play for a WC team.

Philly? Haha, he obviously went for long term stability and straight up cash. I'm just glad he didn't go to Detroit.

LOL at the Flyers. They haven't had a goalie since Hextall and they're still throwing big money at older skaters.
