haha well crystallas idk if his number would be in the rafters but he would be a very rodman like role. he's not the reason we win but he adds something to our team that we need: perimeter defense. while post defense is much more important, you need someone to guard the major scorers in the league.

it's important to remember: THERE ARE TWO SIDES TO BASKETBALL! OFFENSE AND DEFENSE! JUST BECAUSE THEY DON'T SCORE DOESN'T MEAN THEY SUCK!

and you are wrong about deng. look at the market value. the players who are better than deng get paid more. this includes lebron, melo, etc. then the players who aren't as good get paid the same or less. look at someone like caron butler. butler averages 16 and 6 on 43% shooting and gets paid 9 mil a year. deng gets more points and rebounds and plays better defense and shoots better. therefore he should be paid more. he's not really as overpaid as people think. even with the injury concerns, he's really not that bad of a contract and ESPECIALLY not a player.

He was the reason we won for so many years. I watched every game of Kirk's career, and I bet during his career as a Bull(last 7 seasons) he leads the team in win-shares. People have this crazy short term memory with Kirk(I almost feel like I'm talking to bandwagon fans that only started watching after Rose came to the team).

I don't see many people arguing that Rodman's 91 shouldn't be retired. IDK why we have such a new high standard for retiring jerseys since Mike and Scottie. The Rodman situation is special though, because he only played for 3 years, and he might be most remembered for those 3 years in Chicago.

I agree that Kirk shouldn't be a #1 option, but he was not the player that would give up on either side of the court. Late in games, if we came back, it was thanks to Kirk, more times than he cost us a game. If he had the opportunity to play his whole career as a Bull, and if we won a Championship in that time, his number should be retired. Not that it will happen now, and I'm not totally sour about the trade(as long as we get something out of the FA hoopla).

Here's a thread for those of you on your rags. Instead of coming into every thread and putting down everyone with the typical "This player isnt coming here" and "This front office will fail" and "If we get stuck with this guy we will still suck" posts, keep it all in here. You guys can all agree on how much you hate the Bulls and hate the rest of us for not being miserable, emo, pessimists.

this thread if dedicated to you guys.

I'll start it off for you guys....

LeBron is staying in Cleveland. Why would he leave 30M on the table and leave the place he grew up to play in MJs shadow?

Wade is staying in Miami. Miami has great weather and clubs and they can afford almost 3 max contracts.

Chris Bosh is going with Wade because they are friends and like to eat lunch together.

Carlos Boozer sucks and no one will take Loul Deng because he sucks.

Your turn...

Great thread. A help group for pessimists. Now, they can all hold each others hands through all of their anxiety instead of cluttering the board and imposing their angst on everyone else. A lot of chicken littles.

BTW, overtly pessimist does not = realist.

lol you didn't just call me a bandwagon fan did you?

man i remember kirk. he's always been a good player. maybe i'd compare him to norm van lier. great team presence. great defense. just a classic bull. same with kirk. i wouldn't put kirk in the rafters though.

i mean this is gonna sound wrong, but i mean he's never even made an all star team. don't take that the wrong way. great player but not all time bull. i mean i would compare him to maybe orlando woolridge in situation. he was a good player, but now we got jordan.

i hope this made any sense lol. basically i think he's gonna help whichever team he goes to a LOT.

Kirk is the best player on the team of a decade, the 2000's decade may have been pretty awful for so much, but hands down Kirk was the top player... also is the Bulls top all time 3 point shooter. Obviously the way the game has shifted is why that happened but it is another part of Kirk's time as a Bull and he is a top Bull for life. Not top 10 but a top mentionable.
