bbaker, rub your small handful of brain cells together and try to work up some new material. I am pretty sure your Grandpa heard this line about Tony Esposito, and it wasn't new then.

I come to this hockey forum, as well as some others, because I appreciate the intelligent comments from some of you, even if it is to flame me for being a stranger in a strange land. But be smart. Flame me with brains and we're cool. But hit me with "Have a nice fire tonight," and I can't have respect. I can't compete with dumb and boring because I'd have to become dumb and boring to do so.

Anyway, the thing I don't understand is that there seem to be several of you who spend more time and energy hating my time than loving your own. Go ahead. Hate my team. I don't care. We knocked you out in Game 7 OT last year, then went onto almost taking the Cup. You're supposed to hate us. That could have been you taking on Boston. Who knows? Maybe you would have beaten Boston, but we'll never know because you couldn't get past us. So you're supposed to hate us. But hate us more than love your own team? I don't get it. I dunno. I am rambling because I am disappointed. You understand, you felt this way about this time last year. You may feel this way tomorrow.

But I will say this. Blackhawks beware. LA beat us by riding a super hot goal tender, by not creating much offence, but choking ours with relentless checking, by playing very patiently and waiting to capitalize on even just one turnover. They played with a philosophy that said they didn't have to score piles of goals. They just needed one more each night. They were happy to win 1-0, 2-1, or 3-2. This was their game plan. And it was very effective. And it is exactly the same game plan Phoenix has used to put your backs to the wall.

Good luck tomorrow night.

bbaker, one more question.

Why Scalabrine? I don't follow NBA so close, but why the Scalabrine pic? Chicago has so many other sports icons you could choose from. Kane, Toews, Derrick Rose, Paul Konerko, Adam Dunn, Devin Hester, Brian Urlacher........ And you go with Scalabrine?

Does he get five minutes a game? Does he make the league minimum salary? How many points does he average per game? One?

That's so damn impressive I don't know what to say...How can I top that?

Oh yeah...

The year before, we beat your team and DID go on to win the cup.

Stop acting all high and mighty...if you join a blackhawks exclusive board, what do you expect?

Oh, I get it. And Kobe Bryant is the Black Mamba. Black/White. So Kobe Bryant is really good, valuable to his team, respected around the league, and a champion. Scalabrine is everything opposite to that.

Derosa, that's exactly what I mean. That jersey thing is marginally funny, but you just cut and paste it from somewhere. Am I right? Think man, think!

Yeah, you did beat us and go on to win the cup. That's why we hate you. But less than we hate the Bruins.

But what do I expect? I expect a spirited, intelligent exchange. Not outdated jokes and cut and paste bullshit.

your first post on this website was all about baiting people into comments...you knew what you were doing here, you knew you would get shit... you weren't just an innocent bystander getting attacked, you brought it on yourself

 who the **** is RockyRider? No shit it's not an original line. Also, why the hate for The White Mamba? Scal is an icon in Chicago/across the NBA. Sorry you don't get to witness his greatness since your team bolted a decade ago.

Why are you on a Chicago sports board when you're a Canucks fan? I would burst into flames if I ever went to go post on a Canucks, Whitecaps, Grizzlies forum.

Move along, EH

tbo, I agree! I did bring it on. Of course I am not an innocent victim. But I expected better shit instead of so much of it just being shitty. This is just boring. I swear, some other teams have more clever posters.

it's playoff time and you even admitted it, we hate the canucks....nobody is going to be 'clever' when a poster from vancouver comes in here during playoffs and tries to entice

bbaker, you'd burst into flames like it looks like your man Scalabrine is doing.

Scalabrine is an icon? I guess he does give funny looking, overweight white guys a belief they can be something. "Maybe if I work real hard and pay my dues, I can watch Derrick Rose be awesome from real close up too."

tbo, no one is going to be clever? That's terrible. Chicagoans aren't really all that dumb. I know it.

Move on? I am aboot too.

RockyRider is correct. Scalabrine blows. He's a complete waste of a roster spot.
