I have a feeling he'll re-up with Guillen in Miami. It seems like Miami wants to compete. They have been link to most of the top free agents.

I'd say every team wants to compete

I hope he stays in Chicago  but I bet probably the Marlins because of Ozzie:(

If Burls somehow doesn't come back, is Sale a lock to replace him in the rotation?

It'll be a gloomy day if I see something that says Burls signs with another team.

Cardinals have 4 starters coming back, if Wainwright is healthy, and a starter waiting in the bullpen. I think theres always room for someone like Buerhle in a teams starting 5....which sucks, cos I want em here.

Everybody knows what Buerl's is; eats up innings, doesnt get hurt, gold glove. Not many teams that wouldnt take 'em

I would think so.

Marlins make offer to Burls..

According to Jon Heyman of SI.com, the Marlins have made an offer to Mark Buehrle.

Heyman also confirmed that the Marlins have made offers to Albert Pujols and Jose Reyes, but writes that there's "nothing close." Like Pujols and Reyes, Buehrle visited with the Marlins this week. The veteran left-hander is reportedly drawing interest from as many as ten teams and should be able to find a lucrative multi-year contract in a weak market for free agent starting pitchers.

Can't say i'm surprised.

If this is the end of Burls on the South Side, I truly appreciate what he's done for this team.

He will always be one of my favorite Sox players.

It will be a sad day when I see him putting on another uniform this winter.

That might be about right, although if STL doesn't sign Pujols and has no interest in Fielder, he might go there instead.

John Mozeliak said the Cards will not pursue Fielder if Pujols leaves St. Louis. So Buehrle to St. Louis would make sense in the salary aspect.

My guess is leaning towards Florida, but I can see STL too. Def with Wainright coming back from injury.

I don't see either Chicago team in the running.
