I think the only snag will be him coming off the bench. I believe he is healthy

Smart move making him agree to his role before he comes in. I think it would be smart for him to accept because the bench minutes will be easier on his body. If he signs, other teams 2nd units are going to get hammered. Hope Tibs wants to run run run, come playoff time it could wear down older teams (Boston) and teams without a bench (Miami).

This probably won't happen, but since T-Mac doesn't play defense, the Bulls should keep Bouldin on the roster since they still need another perimeter defender

I love the press around these "prerequisites" from the Bulls. If you address those 2 concerns, and settle on a realistic contract, I like T-Mac. Sam Smith can say whatever he wants, he is 50/50 on his opinions, just like anyone most who actually follows the league.

I have said it before, and I'll say it again. T-Mac does not have the learning disability that Iverson has. He does not have the spotlight diva attitude of Shaq, and he doesn't have the work ethic(or lack thereof) of Shawn Kemp.

To me, there are 2 ways to learn. 1, from your own mistakes, and 2, from other peoples mistakes. I think T-Mac has grown up a ton, made a lot of mistakes, and learned a lot from them. I think the other young players on this team will see and hear press from all of the skeletons in his closet, and learn a great deal indirectly from him being here.

Also, the Tim Grover factor! I hope I don't over-rate Grover's training methods, but to me, it seems like nobody ever talks about him.

I can only hope he is not as inept when it comes to a team factor as Iverson. I grew up a pretty big fan of Iverson n wished he wouldn't have gone the path he has with his ego.

McGrady on the otherhand has done a pretty good job of keeping his ego in check. He does have the same mentality as you've all said.

Let's hopefully bring him aboard and gun for glory in the East!.

Smith: Has Tracy McGrady seen the light?

Sources say despite reports to the contrary now Miami tried repeatedly to get McGrady to sign and Pat Riley was calling McGrady daily.

McGrady not only said he didn’t want to go to Miami, but said he believed the Bulls could defeat the Heat and he’d rather be on the team that beats them.

BULLS: Has Tracy McGrady seen the light?

Just heard on 1st Take that the Bulls are prepared to sign McGrady if he answers the following two questions correctly:
1. Are you healthy?
2. Are you willing to take a back-up role?

Best way to do it, imo. Even though we missed out on the Big 3, we've had a helluva good offseason.
