Anybody else see this movie?

Thoughts?

I'm a Gosling fan and was blown away. Not by his performance by any means, but that I got rope-a-doped into what I think was a fantastic film. I'd say the last move that really tugged at my ballstrings was "There Will Be Blood"

Anyways, I couldn't find the Movie Thread, so I posted this shit. I hope to see some thoughtful engagement from people that have seen this film, and for those that haven't, I hope you give me props for recommending it to you.

I see lots of Mike Patton and Arvo Part. Fucking Gosling is also attributed with performing a song on it.

Another under the radar Gosling movie is "The United States of Leyland" with Don Cheadle, the bro from American Pie, the bro not the douche, Kevin Spacey, and a couple others.

They released it after the notebook if I remember, but had filmed it several years prior, I don't know what the hold up was or if it took Gosling getting famous to be worth the finishing costs or something, but its one of those movies you should have heard about.

The movie "Crash" won all the awards that year despite major logical problems and awkward unbelievable relationships and a limited point to the movie. IMO, this one is better. I will for sure watch Beyond the Pines though.

The Way Way Back is a great movie. Definitely one of those 'coming of age' type movies.

I liked gosling in da believer and half nelson. That's it doe. He sounds like a British Columbian Mormon imitating Christian Slater imitating Marlon Brando, e.g., deaf. I thought 'dwive' was underwhelming but i liked the opening credit sequence and christina hendricks.

I still ask da wife if she wants to go for a 'dwive' with me.

I will check this movie out thougj

Haven't seen it, but might check it out now .... "there will be blood" was an excellent movie with outstanding research and "rigger" lingo. Great movie!

My wife said blue valentine was great, and she's no dope. I havent seen it. She was expecting a crime/romance out of this one, but it was not that at all.

Not trying to insult the wife`s intelligence, just maybe her taste. And if she has seen Blue Valentine and liked it and could relate, I suggest you maybe don`t watch it then.

that's a lot of variables lol.

I guess I can sum it up that my wife, although she is incredibly smart (engineering background) and incredibly male friendly (her written skills are very masculine and her sense of humor is like mine), she is also very passionate like the Italian/German girl she is. So I guess that's why I always opt for comedies/action flicks when we watch movies together because of the rage.
