Their starting line-up torched our defense all night no matter who they went against. They won't shoot that well against us again, but we probably can't get that many offensive rebounds again either.
I thought and think we are better than them, but they are a unique team that will probably win games this year based on matchups. Bad opponent defense is one of the requirements the Knicks need for a win and we gave them that.
Although, if Porzingis is going to go 4/4 from 3 to start off, there is literally nothing you can do to stop a 7'4" guy from shooting 3's. The Rose/Porzingis issue where he penetrates and requires massive team help to stop him from a view of the window creates a nice little void for that length to slip into. Very annoying to defend and a nice compliment.
After watching this game its obvious that the trade is one of those rare beautiful ones where both teams got better from it due to complimentary pieces and systems. I thought we robbed them but lets take this chance to take our hat off to Phil Jackson and acknowledge they also got better.
One final aspect was the lack of MCW clearly hurt the second/third team in this game. The flat start was unacceptable facing Rose/Noah at home.
We feel down 22-6 or somthing and recovered with our deeper bench, but when it came down to it their best 5 cleaned up our poor shooting best 5.
Wade and Butler are the same fucking player. Not that its a terrible thing, but they aren't a beautiful compliment like Rose/Porzingis and essentially just rob each other of iso work.
But because both defend you can live with it better than Rose/Butler.
