The Quest for 1: Week 4 What to Cheer For

Panthers @ Bucs

The Bucs are a real threat to come up for 1, and a win at home against the Panthers would be a big boost for them. The Panthers are beatable despite being 3-1 they have beaten some pretty bad teams.

Bucs

Cowboys @ Saints

Here is hoping that Brees comes back and plays and the Cowboys do not play well with Weeden. The Superdome is not an easy place to play for anyone especially a back up QB.

Saints

Browns @ Chargers

I have no faith that the Browns can win with Josh McCown, I have no faith that they can win on the road, and I have no faith they can beat a team like the Chargers. The Browns will probably stay in a nice position for the pick.

Browns

Lions @ Seahawks

The Seahawks are not very good as we saw last week so the Lions may have a punchers chance, but they look like a total mess so they will probably get killed. The Lions should move to 0-4 and be in position for the pick.

Lions

Jaguars @ Colts

No Andrew Luck? This could be great news for the quest for 1 as the Jaguars are a legitimate threat and the Bears need them to win some of these divisional games. Taking one off of the Colts would be huge.

Jaguars

Packers @ 49ers

Bears fans should be cheering for the 49ers for multiple reasons. 1. Jim Tomsula is awesome, 2. We all hate the Packers, 3. The 49ers look bad and they may be in the market for a QB. The 49ers need to start winning some games because their division is a monster.

If we beat the Raiders, we probably have a 1% chance of getting the number 1 pick.

I think of all those the Saints have the best chance. Think I'm right in saying this is Weeden's first ever road game and it looks like Brees may be back.

Folks, this is almost a sure-thing. The Bears are the most talent-deprived team in the entire NFL.

We are getting the #1 pick, it's just a question of by how many wins do we "win" it.

The Bears fall to Derek Carr and the Raiders on Sunday.

****, I even picked up the Raiders defense in fantasy as a steaming pick.

It will still be close to 20%

Vegas still has them as the odds on favourite for it.

Just an FYI... "odds on favorite" means that it is better than 1:1. That means better than 50%. They are not odds on, they are just the favorite.

I don't think we're as bad as some of these teams. We would easily get the #1 overall pick if Jeffery and Cutler were out for the year, but that's not the case. Cutler could come back as early as this week, and Jeffery shouldn't be out much longer than that.

With Cutler, Forte, Bennett, Alshon, and a respectable offensive line all healthy, this offense is in the top half of the league. Not to mention, we'll simply out-coach one or two teams at some point this year. Fox/Fangio/Gase are the real deal.

What? You are aware he was the starter in Cleveland for the better part of two seasons, right? There's plenty of road games in that stretch.

Did you mean to type something else?

Carolina is my lock of the week. I remember that coach. He will handle the rookie. I bet that game hard and believe with little to no doubt I'm wrong.

PS. I'm never 100% sure. I do this a lot and for fairly serious money. But I'm sleeping fine on this one. Carolina -3 on an easy road trip in same climate and time zone is worth a look.

The favourite by a lot.

So on Bovada the Packers are +325 and the Bears are +50000 which is actually tied with Jacksonville right now. I just placed 50 on the Bears meaning that if they win the Super Bowl, I win 25 thousand.

I feel you. But that's not how football works. Injuries are the rule, not the exception. And with the current Bears, the whole is not greater than the sum of its parts, unfortunately.
