The main stuff I listen to (I'm almost exclusively underground hip hop)

  • Little Brother
  • Jedi Mind Tricks
  • Common
  • A Tribe Called Quest
  • Blu
  • Mos Def
  • Blackalicious
  • Blitz the Ambassador
  • Fashawn
  • Tanya Morgan
  • Skyzoo
  • Foreign Exchange
  • Kno
  • Cunninglyguists
  • Consequence
  • Talib Kweli
  • Cyne
  • Everliven Sound
  • The Left
  • Saigon
  • Reks
  • Strange Fruit Project
  • Aloe Blacc
  • Strong Arm Steady
  • Sean Price
  • Evidence
  • Jermiside
  • Joe Budden
  • Murs
  • Elzhi
  • Slum Village
  • Slaughterhouse
  • Royce Da 5'9
  • J-Live

One of the best parts of underground hip hop though is the producers, so a lot of the music I discover is by who's producing. Producers to definitely try and take in:
  • RJD2
  • 9th Wonder
  • Kev Brown
  • Apollo Brown
  • Nicolay
  • Pete Rock
  • DJ Premiere
  • Ant
  • Black Milk
  • Exile
just to name a few...

My favorite rapper is Eminem. Hands down the best to ever do it. You can have your opinion but you couldn't convince me otherwise.

Some my other favorite artists are Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, PackFM, Chamillionaire, Joe Budden, TI, Cunninlyguists, Z-Ro, Soul Khan...a pretty big variety.

I know some would be classified as "real hip-hop" and some wouldn't but I listen to hip-hop almost exclusively so I prefer different types of it for whatever reason as opposed to most people who like multiple genres of music.

Most of those are good lyricists, but you cant mention Real Hip Hop, without recognizn' Immortal Technique. Hes not your conventional rapper who glorifies crime. If you dont know Immortal Technique, you should, hell open your mind. Hest the Best, better than Eminem, Lil Wayne,..... Industry rappers arent on his level. search him on Youtube thats Immortal Technique. ill suggest some tracks in particular,

Creation and Destruction
Dominant Species
Revolutionary
The Prophecy
No Mercy
Industrial Revolution

Holla at me if you need more info

Jada kills it like crazy and nobody ever notices. I like Jeezy a lot aswell but only some of him. Ice Cube, mainly all i listen to on him is his old stuff. Nas is the best lyracist alive basicallly. and The Game it really depends on the song, Not a big fan of him with G-unit or his mainstreamed songs

I agree with most of this quote, cube has to be old. Like i said the game is hit or miss. I dont think Jeezy is there though, but diff strokes for diff folkes.
