Isn't Edmunds a 3-4 ILB?

Do we really want to fit a square peg into a round hole again?

Wasn't Roquan Smith a 3-4 LB but everyone wanted to re sign him. Bears aren't a traditional 3-4 defense we're a hybrid and it's way more complicated than that.

Seems like Anderson would be best fit as a 3-4 OLB.

Which we don’t run anymore lol

I'd be excited if this were our off-season.

If we're at 2, I'm hoping we can move it for more picks- but its impossible to be mad at Will Anderson. I also think Pocic gets more than this, but who knows.

Nice work.

Maybe if Pocic stayed healthy but right now he's a one year wonder who couldn't stay healthy and is a few years from 30 so its his last shot.

There's a lot of tape where anderson plays from 3 and 4 point stances and dominates the OL in front of him. Doesn't really show to struggle in the run game. Most scouts have said he can play in any system. So people saying he's a 3-4 OLB are making that judgement based off their own decision he's too small and pretty much nothing else.

Agreed- Anderson will thrive in whatever system drafts him.

The dude is 6’5” and 250lbs of pure athletic fury with ability cover the pass. No. He’s not a prototypical smaller fast lb who plays interior behind the larger A Gap B gap meat shields of a 3-4. That would be Roquan, who had issues in our D to his lack of size coming from the WLB.

Edmunds is a fucking animal. The Bills use him in the inside, but, again, it’s a 4-2-5 nickel,
Mostly. I see him, at his size and athleticism, as a WLB in our system. He has the upside of pass rush ability. We need this dude.

On. Side note, how cool would it be to get his brother, too? He’d be a nice safety, and I don’t know what is up with EJax and his foot. Also, you can’t have too many talented safeties. Anyway, I digress. Edmunds is my first choice for LB.

Smith is better but he didn't want to be a Bear and wanted an insane contract extension.

We traded a second round for Claypool let's see how he pans out before we call him a bust.

But in that case....why wouldnt we have just re-signed Roquan?

Spotrac has him at 14.2m predicted. Roquan was at 17.3. Don't see a point in it but wouldn't mind it.

I'm just assuming that Poles doesnt value the linebacker position too much based on his moves thus far and values DB/Dline much much more.

My guess at LB is Anthony Walker JR on the cheap. Former Indy guy who is on IR and should come dirt cheap

I don’t think Poles is going to spend much on LB. Morrow and GOATBorn are good players and should be even better with an improved DL. I could see him drafting a LB in rounds 2-5

Kind of a silly list, but I do think things change if the Bears can sign Da'Ron Payne and draft either Will Anderson, or say **** it and draft Jalen Carter and have 2 monsters in the middle of the line.

These dudes.

I don't see that as realistic Jalen Carter is a top five pick, Zay Flowers is projected as a late first or early second round pick, Felix Anudike-Uzomah would be an awesome pick in the second round.

It probably is a bit unrealistic, but certainly possible. Carter and Anudike-Uzomah would wreck havoc for years to come. Could also go Will Anderson Jr. and Gervon Dexter / Calija Kancy. Ojulari is another name to look out for. He has been more productive in college, and has more upside than his brother.
