Giving your pet frog a brain tumor is not cool or funny. I'm out raged that PETA has not taken up the cause...

I had a purebred Siberian and a big o black Lab/Goldie mix. The mix after having ACL repair had passed away due to gastric torsion. About a month later, we were out on a walk passed a local grade schools' ball fields when the Husky started going ape shit. We looked around for maybe a kid she wanted to meet as she was VERY social and friendly. Way off across the complex we finally saw the cause of her excitement. Some had brung their Newfie to watch the games. Our Husky carried on like nothing we had ever seen! Only until we were able to let her make the acquaintance of the Newfie did she realize it was not her "Mesa" did she actually settle down.

Do some animals mourn, you bet your corn flakes they do!

I had a siberian husky when I was a kid. Great family dogs, they are some of the most social/friendly. Drawbacks....they are runners, which is how she met her untimely demise. She got out when my brother was taking the garbage out when she was about 8. Found her 3 days later on the side of a main road mangled (theres nothing worse as a 12 year old kid, coming upon a dog you had pretty much as long as you can remember and you are the one that discovers her dead in such bad shape). She had gotten out a few times before, but someone always found her and called us.

Secondly, terrible guard dogs. We had a pulley/run system between 2 trees in our front yard and in our back yard, we didnt have a fence, but she had the run of the entire yard with the pulleys/long leash. Someone stole our car from our driveway, while she was right out front, and didnt make a sound. My mom went outside to bring her in for the night, and noticed her car was gone.

So this is what happens when we have no hockey season longer than the norm, eh?

I'm still waiting for the animal/women vids...

Shit back in the late 90's me and my buddies would look up the most fucked up shit on the internet. That was back when the internet was the wild west and ANYTHING could be found. I've seen chicks sucking off chimps and watched a woman get fucked by a german shepherd.

The Romans used to do this crap to condemned women, you had gladiators and for the next event, a chick and a horse.

Damn dude, that is terrible! A horrible thing for a kid to experience for sure. Yeah, they are runners for sure, Sierra had gotten loose a couple times and we were VERY fortunate to catch her before she got too far, basically the end of the block. Oh and not good guard dogs to say the least, ours was likely to lick someone to death than bite them.

They are really social as far as guard dogging thats a problem, they trust any human beings. That just comes from their "job" though I think. They are sled dogs and people being around is just a fact of life. Funny thing is, when strangers looked at her they were afraid of her, because she looked mean (her white eyebrow markings were angled downward and she looked "angry"), but she was seriously the biggest pushover for people ever, she loved anybody and everybody.

We buried her in the cemetery 20 feet from my great grandparents. My grandpa, is a quite a guy, (he lived right next door to us) when I found her, he helped me and my brother get her off the highway and drove us to the cemetery where all our family is buried (this was highly illegal mind you), helped us dig a hole, right near where his parents were buried, and we buried her right there, and will always know where she is, as she was buried on catholic consecrated ground.

As ornery as my gramps can get about alot of stuff, I will never forget that, he really wanted us to feel that we gave, what was to us a family member, as I had known the dog as long as I had been alive, a proper burial.

My lab/husky mix is an awesome guard dog. Extremely friendly when not at home and loves people, but when it comes to our house and yard we better know you or you might lose a hand. Hair stands up on her back and everything when strangers approach the house. Lol.

Your gramps sounds like a wise man! We always used to get the "is that a wolf?" thing, because Sierra was tall and lanky. She also had the steel blue eyes and was a "red and white" so she had a very striking coat. I got her for a Christmas gift for my wife. I chose her because she came right over to me when the rest of the litter just kinda played with each other. I also picked her because she had a maple leaf on her forehead, it was fate that she was to be ours!

We still have one dog, she is a Husky/Pitt mix, and can be not too friendly toward those she doesn't know. I like to let her "talk" to some of the solicitors that come by, especially Jahova's witnesses.

Mine was black and white with Blue eyes, she was a "long haired" husky too, I have some old pics, I should scan them. Most Siberians have shorter coats, but do come in a longer haired variety, her curled tail looked like a bell, because her hair on her tail was so long.

This pic of a siberian portrays her hair length really well.

I also think Canadian Huskies are cool looking dogs (dont know of any breeders in the states...they are shaggier that Even my siberian was, although her tail hair was still longer)

I am still deciding what dog to get now, since my ex hijacked our dogs. I like the Spitz breeds, but since I am going to be an apartment dweller for the forseeible future, I would prefer something a little smaller, I was looking at Shiba Inu's. (they generally weigh between 20-30lbs)

I especially like them in this sesame color:

They also come with more traditional husky looking markings:

This is their "standard" coloring though. which also isnt bad:

Bigger dogs are good for apartment dwellers. Most big dogs dont want to run or are too barky. Huskies and such they do like to run. I have a buddy that has 2 great danes and they pretty much do nothing ever. They do take up space, but they aren't running around barking and yapping all day.

Obviously this is my favourite animal friendship. Rescued baby otter and his kitten friend. And the kitten's name is Kevin, which is hilarious to me. I know it's not in the wild, but they're pretty cute.

a very different encounter between a dog and a polar bear. That dog fucked that bear up. On the same token theres 1000 fucks that bear didnt give. I think the bear was more or less suffering a case of confusion, like if you walked into walmart and the greeter just slapped you in the face.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Personally, I'm more of a cat person since they pretty much take care of themselves. We did have a cat when I was a kid--a small tuxedo shorthair named Mandy, who ended up kicking the shit out of a full-grown doberman.

Granted, she was messed up as well, but the dog came out even worse. She was also fiercely loyal to my bro--when one of my stepsister's new puppies bit my bro's hand hard enough to require stiches, She comes barreling ass out of nowhere to **** that puppy up.
