I'm gonna be really pissed if all this rebuilding crap pays off for absolutely nothing.

Actually, no I won't. It'll be typical Cubs baseball that I've learned to embrace. :smoke:

When did I say he was a lock? I wanted/want him to come here.

Both cases I said a big name. Not necessarily Fielder. Kudos on reading comprehension, though. I still stand by that statement that we'll get a big name. Whether it be Turner, Rizzo, or Soler. Or all of them.

LOL at those being "big names". Those are prospects and not even the same type of deal you were talking about. Give me some time, I know you were bullshitting around about Prince Fielder coming here for sure because he would have no other place to go.

Now I'm forced to wade through your shitty posts.

No he said in his interview this morning he wants to see what Lahair can do.

"im pretty excited to give this kid the opportunity to go out and play" an exact quote

he is 28 but who cares we need a guy to fill in and he is a cheap option and if he plays well in 2012 we have a trade chip in the future or we keep him as a platoon guy he can play the OF. I just dont see the down side of giving him a chance.

And that still doesn't guarantee that LaHair will be the opening day first baseman. He is the most likely candidate at this point, but none of the quotes say definitively Brian LaHair is the opening day 1B. He said right now he is, which is true if you look at the roster, and that he is excited to give the kid an opportunity to go out and play. That doesn't preclude the team from getting another starting 1B.

I do agree with the position that he is a better option than bringing back Carlos Pena or Derrek Lee.
