I'm seeing them at Red Rocks this summer. Don't own any album, never seen them before. Can't wait
Tadeschi Trucks Band at the Chicago Theatre. Along with their original songs, they channeled the greats from the past like Robert Johnson, Sly and the Family Stone, Parliment Funk and Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs and Englishmen.
He is considered the greatest slide guitarist in the world and she is a blues yeller much like Bonnie Raiitt. Show started off with the legendary Leon Russell. Good but not great set. Much too loud and I wasnt impressed with his back up band. Would have been better with him along on the piano. He eventually played a few songs with Tadeschi Trucks
Main show starts and the fans are on their feet for the entire concert. Ran into a 20s couple outside that asked us to take their picture. Neither had ever heard of this band or Leon Russell and said they had to look them up on the internet, yet they still bought tickets. Lots of young people there and I was surprised given they have never heard 99% of the songs. Ended up in the 10th row which was a surprise as I thought we were much further back
Show is great as expected. He is a monster on guitar and here voice is as strong as anyone in the industry. It's a 12 piece band and everyone has a featured part. All having fun on stage and they are smiling and dancing around. Would have thought you were at a Sly Stone concert in the 70s.
Woman next to us is pouting all night and fighting with her boyfriend. Obviously a Beiber type and is super pissed she is at the concert. Wont stand up and she keeps pushing his hand away
So when did this standing all concert thing start? I remember first couple of row but not the entire audience.
