I don't have a lot of what-ifs for this team. But the one that will stick in my head for years, will be, what if we didn't have a shortened season? Not to say my conclusion is that makes the Bulls automatic, but I still will run that through my head for years to come.

You take Dirk off that Mavs team and the Mavs beat this 76ers team.

This is why I felt that they couldn't beat Miami...and was leaning towards Miami in the ECF. This team doesn't have a suitable number 2 guy. Deng is the 3rd guy on a contending team in my opinion.

The Bulls are a better team than Philly...without Rose. I will allow a bit of an excuse because of Noah's injury. But otherwise....inexcusable.

The Mavs team of last year right?

I agree that Deng is a great #3 guy, but I also think he was hampered this series with his own injuries. Its possible he could have shined against the Sixers if he were 100%.

With Deng hurt and Noah out, the Bulls really didn't have a good chance against the Sixers. People brag about the Bulls bench, saying many of the players "could be starters on other teams", but thats kind of besides the point. If CJ Watson were a starter on say the Knicks, he would be passing the ball to Anthony and Stoudamire...not Korver and Asik. Having bench players play starter minutes while surrounded by other bench players is not the same as having a bench player fill in every now and then. I don't think some Bulls fans and media people understand that.

Ala vs Detroit all those years ago.

For the second paragraph you are dead on.

If only the Bulls had Rory Sparrow on their bench. Instead, the Bulls left him off the team bus, and now Rory has an axe to grind against the Bulls.

For the 2nd year in a row the Bulls have proven that the REGULAR SEASON MEANS NOTHING it's all about the playoffs.

This Bulls team has proven the last two years they're a regular season team. Last year Rose carried them to the ECF while guys like Carlos Loozer and Kyle Korver shit the bed. This year the Bulls had no offense outside of Luol Deng and when he wasn't scoring, no offense anywhere.

Unless you think Derrick Rose is the GOAT, the Bulls were not winning the title even with him. When Michael Jordan retired, the Bulls were a call away from winning a title WITHOUT him. Without Rose, the Bulls went from ECF to losing to an 8 seed. I know Joakim got hurt but the Bulls looked bad with him as well.

Get used to it, the Bulls are locked into so many long-term deals they resemble the Cubs 2 years ago. There isn't anyone they can move to acquire the Scottie Pippen this team desperately needs.

Rose mine as well take his sweet time coming back b/c help isn't arriving until at least 2013-14.

Pax was a great role player, not such a great GM/VP.

But Deng would have been more motivated to play well against Philly (as opposed to Detroit), because the London Olympics are coming up.

His teammates in the UK team are not even basketball players. Deng would have played in the Olympics even with one leg and one hand and he would have been the first scorer of his team.

highly debatable

and of course, it wasnt just rose that was hurting in this series, so that has to be factored in
