My only thing is this season has become about Caleb for me. I sort of rather he give all Brown’s energy to the offense, and Caleb. But I wouldn’t cry if this happened.

I didn’t see the game, did Flus cost them this one as well? I see his defense was shit, did he do anything specific like he did the past so many weeks to blow the game?

A lot of soft coverages and not blitzing. Same crap he did last week too.

Make Thomas Brown the HC the last 6 games. Do it now. #imwithremy #dont@me #dickrippingisover
I prefer Brown be 100% focused on the offense and Caleb but if I fire Flus it is after the Lions game so Brown has the mini bye to transition.

It also only makes sense to do it if you are seriously considering him for HC. If not and you going to fire Flus and co regardless then let him just focus on OC.

At this point, we're in the very position we didn't want to be: It's better that they don't win.

But most importantly, win or lose, is Caleb's development.

Naming T Brown the Interim HC now may not be the best thing in the long run. If you hope he's the guy, you hope for wins. What if he goes 3-3? 4-2? Are we in a Raiders situation where the players lobby for the interim guy and we forego other candidates?

Aren't we better letting him develop Caleb while Flus makes sure we add L's?

I hate that we're in a spot where it is better to lose. I had hoped last year was the last time we felt that way. But unless one thinks we can win the last 6 and make a playoff run (not happening!) losing isn't the worst thing.

There's an argument to be made that the players need to learn to win and I would agree. But if we lose enough to assure Flus is fired (we better already be there!), get better draft position (hopefully for the lest time!), and develop Caleb, that's a win, even while losing.

We all hate losing to anyone, especially the division rivals. I wanted us to win last week and today. But there's a strong argument to be made that these two weeks played out as well as we could have hoped.

(Don't let us be in this position again. Discussing draft position mid-season is horrible.)

Flus has to win Thursday in Detroit or I really do think he is fired Friday morning.

I disagree with you.

Here's the thing.

Thomas Brown has managed to hold the offense accountable and get the best out of everyone in this current offensive system, and call better plays within this offensive system, but he really hasn't innovated anything or put the team in a better position other than to throw out what doesn't work.

What do I mean?

I don't know if anyone has noticed, but DJ Moore seems to keep getting the ball on basically the same play. It's been that way for the past 2 weeks.

It's an effective play, but with the frequency the Bears run it, It's only a matter of time before a defense figures out a way to defend it and sniffs it out.

I'm not seeing anything that sends DJ more deep and makes use of his speed.

The stuff with Keenan Allen as well. They did get rid of a lot of the Keenan Allen going deep stuff, but at the same time they still are making him a focal point of the offense. Anyone really paying attention this game should be able to see that doing so comes with some severe limitations.

Meanwhile, the special stuff we saw today was because Caleb Williams was special, not because Thomas Brown's play calling was special.

I was excited about what Thomas Brown cleaned up last week and was excited to see what he could do this week but now that I've seen it, I see what Caleb Williams was saying when he said Thomas Brown didn't run anything different from Shane Waldron and that it's just Thomas Brown's expectations were different.

Right now it matters a lot more that Caleb Williams develops than it does the Bears have a head coach who can get the team from having given up on Eberflus to at least playing mediocre for the rest of the season. Either way the team is going to miss the playoffs.

And if you do make Thomas Brown the interim head coach, You now take him out of the booth and make him focus on more than just the offense. At least under Thomas Brown the OC, Williams can develop.

I can't say the same for Thomas Brown the head coach, even in interim.

It really does suck, but we need to ride out the rest of the season. And if we do need a pound of flesh, The move would be to fire Eberflus after the Thanksgiving game to give the interim coach extra time, and make Eric Washington the interim head coach so that you can keep some level of consistency for Caleb Williams and allow him to develop until the off-season when hopefully we can get him in the hands of someone who can truly innovate.

I'm all in on keeping the Fluberbus

He's the guy who can get the highest pick possible

And as an added bonus

He can get the all time worst win % for the bears.....he deserves it.

I am somewhat on board with this. I could treat this as an unintentional comedy the rest of the year and have a good laugh
