If the team finishes strong then it gives the front office an excuse to hire him knowing they’ll have to pay him jack shit. Then we’ll have the offensive version of Antonio Pierce. (Or insert the plethora of other guys who got a HC gig in a similar fashion and then were a train wreck. Which is almost all of them.) We’ll have to deal with crap like “the players really like him.” “He’s earned it.”
It’s also just dumb. Guy schemes a decent gameplan for two games and people are discussing putting him in a position where he could get the HC job permanently. People around here really are freaking stupid.
