Used to love watching the Monkeys when I was young.

Did that broadcast not also include the Banana Splits and some other show with the catch phrase "oh-oh Chongo"?

Flippin like a pancake, poppin like a corn,

Bingo

Fleago

Drooper

and Snork

Tra la la, la la la la

(not sure of that above, it has been many many years)

My older sister used to watch Dark Shadows after school but I didn't. There was a primetime remake that lasted one season in the early 90's with Ben Cross and Jean Simmons (the British actress, not Gene Simmons from KISS). Tim Burton and Johhny Depp have a new film version due out in a few months.

Yeah, Chongo was this live action series with people trapped on on island and risk for being eaten by cannibals painted up to look skeletal. Chongo had Tourettes or something and couldn't talk and whenever get in a jam with the cannibals, then he'd go completely go ape****. He and the cool black dude were supposed to be a shipwrecked merchant marines but I could never understand what purpose Chongo would have served as a member of a ship's crew in the first place being the complete spaz that he was. Heck, he probably caused their shipwreck in the first place. I don't think it's available on DVD, probably for similar reasons why Disney's "Song of the South" isn't either, it's too politically incorrect in these times.

Danger Island was the name of the show played during Banana Splits.

I am pretty sure she was the first girl on a tv series that I had a kid crush on. Oh, the mammories...... wait, did I spell that correctly???

I saw the remake...Man, it was bad. Not "American Idol" bad, but bad.

The monkeys was a go to show after school when i was younger. I give that show a lot of credit for developing my strange sense of humor.

"head" was one fucked up movie also which i totally loved...i didn't fully get it but i loved it.

Also won a lip sync concert in grade 5 doing the monkeys theme song.
