Just found my way through this thread, so forgive me for bringing up old posts.
They've gotten a lot better since they booted Murph and Mike North, moved Mulley & Hanley to the morning slot, re-hired Dah-mah-neil and put B&B in drive-time. Their weekday programming is unbeatable as far as sports radio goes (i.e. better than ESPN 1000).
And the White Sox "bias" is in part due to the White Sox being broadcast on that station and the fact that the station appears to value on-air ability more than team affiliations. The station still employs a lot of Cubs fans, but the simple truth is that many of them aren't good enough to headline their own show: Spiegel is garbage, Abbattacola isn't host material, and the Cubs fans that do nights/weekends are in those slots for a reason and even many of THEM shouldn't be doing shows in the first place. (obviously, though, I'm a bit biased myself)
Lo-Holm is indeed a pimp, do you know what I am saying?
Somehow, this did not surprise me in the least.
They don't pretend to know a damn thing about hockey. Sure, they'll speak from what knowledge they have of the game, but many times they will preface their hockey talk with multiple admissions of not knowing a lot about it and even poking fun at themselves for that very reason.

just because there are people that do not like boers and bernstein doesnt make them wrong. you insinuate that in your comment. what makes me laugh is when he talks about medicine and law, i get a nice laugh anytime i am with my dad who is a retired heart surgeon and me being a lawyer with half the stuff he pulls out of his ass. and in person, he will not put you in your place when he discusses an issue. not like how he does on air...hides behind the mic..

What the hell are you talking about? Where in my post did I imply that anyone was wrong about anything simply because they don't like B&B? Are you talking about what I had to say about JoeHawk's assertion that they "pretend like they know hockey"? Because that was indeed wrong, as I pointed out.
And how is he supposed to not "hide behind the mic" when on the air? You are making very little sense.

il make it easy for you to understand.
When in person Bernstein is completley opposite of how he is on the air, he will not call names and is very passive. when he gets "on air" its him hiding behind his mic, that is were he has his safety blanket where he can talk all the shit he wants because there is no threat. just like people in forums, chat rooms etc.

That statement is in no way indicating anything other than my level of surprise that JoeHawk doesn't like B&B.

I am of the personal belief that B&B are the only regularly listanable sports program in the Chi town area. They arn't overly bias one way or 'tother in most areas, seem to look at logc before heart, and despite what others seem to think, will admit to mistakes. I am looking to be intelligently entertained, not pandered to, and they do not have a tendancy towards pandering to a Chicago audiance. As a fan of Chicago hockey, they do try to talk hockey and are hit and miss at best, but (as Lefty said) they almost always preface this with disclaimers of not knowing a ton about which they speak (something more than a couple posters could stand to do).
Don't like B&B, that is fine, but try and dislike for legit reasons other than "Those guys are dicks and don't just bow down to Chicago sports."
