averaged a whopping 10.3 points brahhhhhhhhh

He scored 40 points in a game last year with Ellis out. Watson's only problem is that he is a score first guard, not that he is a bad player.

dude man brah, i like watson when he isn't taking a lot of shots. I love watson when he's driving it. He isn't a turrible shooter. it's just that he's soo much better at generating fouls than he is shooting.

i still hate JL3.

Watson is way better at drawing contact than D-Rose is... there's not much doubt about that.

seems like they was holding CJ back and want him to be this under control PG that comes off the bench and run the offense but that is not is game, that have to let him loose when he comes off the bench...especially when Rose is out of the game...hopefully Tom learned something tonight on how to use CJ, he is not a PG! let him be the scorer that he wants to be

he played a great game though, did a great job getting to the line

Eh, he is a point guard in certain lineups and a SG in others. He's a combo guard. But I agree that they should let CJ do what he does more often. Maybe they should consider giving him more minutes (i.e. Keith Bogan's minutes).

i dont know how that's even a debate. watson blows rose out of the park at that. That's why i'm so annoyed when watson goes 0-10 some nights. This guy is such an efficient scorer when he takes it to the hoops.

I understand that it in order to create space he's got to take/make a couple 3s. But man is this guy amazing at drawing contact.

I dont know how it's possible to say what i'm about to say. Rose needs to watch some of watson's tape.

I don't think that's silly at all, they both have a similar sort of style, Rose just has greater athleticism that allows him to be a star instead of a role player. However perhaps that's why Watson has learnt to draw contact, prior to the NBA it was probably so easy for him to beat defenders Rose never had to learn that skill.

Guys...calm down

Watson hasn't cornered the market on drawing fouls by driving to the basket. Rose is BETTER at it than Watson is. Watson gets the calls because he is not as strong as Rose and Rose plays through the contact. Rose is just going to have to wait until the superstar calls go his way and the referees pay attention to detail when Rose drives to the basket.

This pretty much sums it up. Rose is faster, stronger, better and when he gets fouled it does not affect his shot. So, that's why he does not get fouls.

that's^ the homer stance. The truth is that he doesn't take or sell contact the way that he should. He is a finese player that avoids the contact altogether when he tries to finish his shot.

i'm with rami. you guys are right. Alot of the time rose does get contact, and the refs dont give him the call. he's just a strong 1 guard. I get that.

BUT, rose needs to learn to draw contact. More times than people are willing to admit, rose will shy away from contact. Rose does that weird floater, that you never expect to go in, or a super athletic reverse layup, so he completely avoids the contact. The ref's see that, so they dont send him to the line.

Here's the other side of it. Rose is a strong pg, but he's not corey maggette. He's not even dwayne wade. do you want rose drawing contact every night? the guy plays 40 minutes a game. How much will his body be able to take?
