I see the rotation being Darvish, Lester, Hendricks, Q, and toss up 5th as of today. If Joe doesnt get rehired then this changes.

My input is target Wheeler and make him the #2.

So it would go Darvish, Wheeler, Q, Hendricks, Lester.

Then keep Chatwood as the 6th/early inning arm

Alozay make the primary 7th inning arm.

Wick primary 8th inning arm

Kimbrel primary closer.

That leaves 4 spots in the pen. Wieck and Ryan are locks. Last 2 Underwood and Mills as multi inning arms. Early season they should focus on Piggly backing the starters to get to the 7th.

Basically have the starter go 5 then 6-7 on a 3 man rotation of Chatwood, Underwood, Mills. If they need a day off then have Ryan take the 2 innings. That way the 8-9 is Alozay, Wick and Kimbrel.

IMO, they really should have sold on a few guys this year while they still had the scent of B-/C+ value.

Today Lester showed his age and Maddon showed why he shouldn't manage the Cubs anymore

This was pathetic
Joe will be gone Lester will not be number 1 or 2
