Per CSN Chicago
Jonathan Toews was involved in a minor car accident downtown this morning, but the Chicago Blackhawks said the center was not injured in the accident.
Toews crashed his Mercedes Benz into a subway train support beam near the intersection of Clark and Lake at approximately 10 a.m. today, according to several reports. The Blackhawks released a statement on Thursday afternoon, saying “Jonathan Toews was in a minor one-car collision in downtown Chicago this morning while driving himself to the United Center. He was not injured."
Toews was already out of tonight’s game against the Dallas Stars with an upper-body injury. Asked if the captain has been working out despite his hockey injury, coach Joel Quenneville said this morning that Toews “is progressing. I guess we’ll say that’s where we’re at.”
I thought he drove a Chevy!
