Sorry, I'm not buying any of this at all. It's really convenient that a short time ago Toews was bitching about not being in the loop with management over a rebuild to suddenly having issues that can't be physically diagnosed during a shortened season when one of the key cogs to actually contending breaks his wrist playing in a juniors tournament.

Toews don't want no part of a rebuild and is sitting home watching Netflix for the year. I will bet money if the Hawks start hot out the gate you will see Toews back in the lineup.

I will ask you a serious question, How do you know it’s not Covid? As you stated you hate speculating but that is exactly what you are doing. My wife is a front line worker, she is seeing the worst of what this disease can do, As I posted earlier I am no doctor but the symptoms are there.

To be fair, we're both speculating. It could be Covid, I don't know, but if it is, why not just say that? Normally, Covid quarantine is two-weeks, right? I'm assuming that they wouldn't say he'd be out "indefinitely" in that situation, but who knows. Lethargy is a common symptom among many ailments, and to my knowledge, that is the only symptom Toews provided publicly.

You are 100% correct we are both speculating, but for some reason when the topic of covid surrounds an athlete it has been quit low key until further tests are taken, then eventually like the case with CC the news gets out and speculation is put to rest.

Whatever it is I will tell you what it isn’t and it isn’t a fake injury/situation/ it isn’t fake anything he’s going through. They aren’t faking shit to tank. And he is the last person I would expect doing any shenanigans. He is a competitor regardless if his production has dropped. Hope whatever it is it isn’t anything long term like vertigo

Toews is not happy with idea of Blackhawks rebuild; Can they pull one off?

Honestly, the mistake was waiting too long to embrace a rebuild. Pondering what they need to do.

Toews isnt faking it because he's mad. If he didn't want to play for the Blackhawks he would give Stan a list of teams that he would waive his no trade clause for, and play his ass off to make himself valuable enough for a contender to want him.

The symptoms that Toews listed could be anything from concussion issues to any of the other illnesses already mentioned

I just find it extremely convenient the captain is suddenly lethargic when two players are suddenly lost for the season after he threw a fit over a rebuild he had no clue was happening.

Agreed. This doesn't sound like Covid to me. I hate speculating but it sounds like depression.

This season will be extremely ugly. I guess the Soderberg signing makes a tad more sense now, assuming Bowman knew about Toews at the time -- he had to get a competent center with both of his top-six centers out. Even on rebuilds, you still need a few vets (in my view).

Regardless, this sucks and it sounds way more serious than Covid. Whatever happens, I hope Toews recovers fully.
