Don't go straight to the "contract year" argument. Kopecky has been getting better every year. There was no contract year excuse for his improvement last year. Whether it's a combination of coaching style, washing off that Detroit slime, or getting the right line mates, he's been elevating his game since he got to Chicago. I don't care what year it is in his contract as long as he keeps it up.[/quote]
Nice avatar Mary!
I agree with you, although I do think the contract year bit may hold part of the answer, I also believe that Kopecky simply might be experiencing a breakout year considering its his 4th season in the NHL. Coupling that with the fact that he is playing with one of the best players in the world, and of course he is going to see an increase in production.
I think its a combination of things... breakout year, playing with one of the top players in the world, and playing harder for his future contract. I'd say the last one probably has the least effect on his performance but I'm sure there is some motivation there. I think the biggest influence in his game right now is playing with Hossa.
