Tommy Edwards and something that bothers me

This may just be me, but I really am bothered when Tommy Edwards introduces the starting lineup, he says "From Chicago, #1 Derrick Rose." Am I the only person who is bothered by this? I know he's the home town kid but it seems like he is getting special treatment here and I also think it is a slap in the face to Memphis to not acknowledge him from there.

Just thought I would bring that up.

This pretty much. Rose was the one who requested it that way...and in reality Rose only went to Memphis because he had to.

I think its only right the hometown kid, face and future of the franchise gets introduced to his hometown like that.

Rose wants it that way so that's the way it is. Who gives a crap about giving Memphis respect? Going to college for players like Rose, Durant, Wall etc. is just a formality anyways to get into the NBA.

Not trying to sound picky but I would think it would sound better if he said "And from Chicago, Illinois....DERRICK ROSE!". I understand your already in Chicago, but it still sounds better to hear the city & state.

He was at Memphis 1 year and shouldn't have even been allowed to enroll....memphis's worries should have been the least with the way he was announced at the NBA level lol

Rush makes a good point, you could argue it would be more disrespectful to change it to say Memphis since his season was striped from the records for illegibility so he technically according to records never eligibly played for the school.
