He has to say that. You need this type of message from the top. Right now the Cubs are losers. They will probably be losers this season. Right no games have played so you want to start the season thinking you can win. Winning and losing are both contagious.

I have no problem with talk like this. I would prefer some players to make the team better, but this is a non issue.

The bolded is exactly the situation that this is. The Marlins team president said they were going to be a playoff team this year. I would accept that their chances are higher but the chances are only marginally better if that. Every team says this when asked and should say this if asked.

Doesn't matter, the Cubs have sucked balls since 2008...when the best they could do was imploding under pressure.

This team is going nowhere fast, barring the annual summer tourism that lines a billionaire owner who refuses to field a quality level of talent...while selling the re-build.

Meanwhile, Jerry Reinsdorf at least makes an effort.

They are big boys now. Come on now. Most on the team know that they are getting an opertunity to build a career for them selves while the farm self develops the long term talent.

Any player of quality or high value has gone elsewhere.

The players who have tagged on have seen others of like quality get playing time and have gotten a second chance.

That is why they signed. It was because they were using the Cubs to promote their career via playing time vs trying to build a quality Cubs team.

You really need to see things for what they are.

I am unhappy. I choose to not worry about it anymore. Not like my opinion is going to change the team. They weren't making money off of me before this crap of a team showed up and they aren't now. My life's crazy enough as it is without doing my daily ***** about the cubs.
