He really needs to see some floor action. I feel like he is ready to contribute. Especially early in this season. He's got the height, length, shooting and defense and he sits because the coach has a deep seated disdain and hatred for rookies. Why waste him when we need need shooters on the floor?

Does anyone else want to see him get some meaningful minutes, other than garbage time?

It won't happen but they should definitely play so they can get rhythm and get in sync with the rest of the team

Considering how he looked in preseason, I'm not convinced he should be playing much anyway.

He'll probably get a lot of action in the D-League.

Anyone who thought before the season started that he was going to play much should reevaluate their expertise. Thibs doesn't play rookies and rookies aren't nearly as stupendous as they were in college or on YouTube.

The way he's going to get in games is showing he can move the ball and make the plays on defense in practice. We don't see what happens in practice but that's where the coaches either see progress or the lack of it.

He'll sit three years like Teague has, and then probably get shipped out to some other team. What a waste of a draft pick. I know he needs work, but he needs PT as well. Can't improve if you never play.

I'm honestly surprised Teaque hasn't seen the floor more. Maybe Thibodeau just doesn't like what he sees from him. Butler didn't get much playing time as a rookie but even then you could see the potential from him. Last year he easily got increased playing time, though the Bulls were banged up most of the year.

A couple things.

- Thibodeau, like most head coaches, hate mistakes...particularly from players who aren't impact (game-winning) players. None of the first round picks during Thibodeau's stay in Chicago have been immediate impact players. Almost all rookies, impact players and projects, make an inordinate number of mistakes. This is why Thibodeau hasn't played rookies a lot since he's been a head coach.

- Despite what I just wrote, Butler played in 42 of 66 games in his rookie season and averaged 8.5 mpg. Snell played in 48 of 82 games last season and averaged 8.2 mpg. So far this season Snell has seen action in 7 of 10 games and averaged only 2.1 mpg...exclusively "garbage time." Even with Butler out, Thibodeau is looking past Snell. IMO, it's clear that Thibodeau has been unimpressed with what he's seen of Snell in practice and therefore we shouldn't expect to see much of Snell in the near future.

Well Snell made some bad turnovers, but I saw him come in at the end last night and drive straight to the hoop in silky smooth fashion. Now, the Denver defense had thrown it in, but still, a lesser athlete wouldn't have made it look so easy. I liked what I saw and think we got one, he has a young Kobe speed to his lithe frame. Little black mamba pounce to him, and shot, if he is a student of the game.

Also pleased Murphy has stayed with the big squad so far, keep those guys out of D-league and develop them. With Deng/Dunleavy/Butler/Teague/Heinrich there isn't much time for the third string SF, but Snell is a keeper. Love him so far, just needs to get used to game speed and add strength pounds.

We don't see what goes on in practice. Bottom line is if Snell was good enough to play, he would be playing. I highly doubt Thibbs would sit someone just because he has the label of a rookie. If you're good enough to play, you'll play.
