A Christmas Story is easy to avoid. It's on for 24 hours straight, but it's only on one network. I love the movie and watch it at least once a year.

It's A Wonderful Life used be on dozens of different channels, some times it would be on three different stations at the same time. There was no avoiding that movie. Now NBC owns the rights and they show it twice a year, I'm back to enjoying it again.

Home Alone is this generation's A Christmas Story methinks.

It's all about trends. Once Home Alone is played more than 20 times in a week for one Christmas season, everyone will get tired of it and move onto the next one.

Christmas Vacation and Christmas Story are the big trenders in recent years, with showings galore. Anyone that can get access to the rights, will milk the hell out of these movies. Home Alone was milked like this before as well, and it will be again.

I guess I was more referring to the nostalgia feeling with the whole "I grew up with this movie" feel. But what you said is totally true as well.

Regardless. Many people including myself still grew up with that movie as part of Christmas tradition. I mean, its practically forced down our throats every year. 24hour marathon and other various showings throughout the month.

Pretty much Every pre teen in america can relate with Ralphy in some capacity. Regardless of era

good points bioch

Surprised its a wonder life is not on more lists.

Imo, that is such an amazing movie way beyond a christmas tradition. Shit is deep and packed with social commentary that is pretty damn dark imo, and is very much still relevant today.

When I read title for this thread the first movie that popped into my head was Scrouged with Bill Murray. Maybe not the best movie but its one that always made me laugh.

Its A Wonderful Life is a very good movie, but I just cant stand listening to that stuttering, stammering, fucking James Stewart
