Here are my top 10:

People always say, "It wasn't fair for Wilt - anyone could have averaged 50 and 29 a game," but I don't buy that. I feel that way about George Mikan and him only. If Mikan played today in his prime he would be no better than Joel Pryzbilla the Vanilla Gorilla.

Who else grabbed 55 boards IN BOSTON against Bill Russell?

Who else lead the NBA in scoring, rebounding, AND assists?

Who else scored 100 points in a single game?

He once said that if he played in the 90's he would have been averaging 60 or 70 a game and I believe it. Wilt was just a MYTHICAL freak and in my book, is the greatest of all-time.

But that's just me, what do I know? I think Kevin Loughery is one of the greatest coaches to ever live...

Who else played every minute of every game because he was clearly a player who cared about numbers?? Wilt.

The year Wilt averaged 50ppg and scored his 100 points, he averaged 48.5 minutes per game. There's only 48 minutes in an NBA game. This man played every minute of every game and OTs. Weren't there games where there were blowouts and he could of been resting? But he played all these minutes so he could get his stats. People look back on it fondly now. But if Wilt tried to pull that in today's NBA he would be called selfish.

Wilt is crazy if he thought he would average 60 or 70ppg in the 90's. OUT OF HIS MIND. Not with Olajuwon, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Shaq. If Wilt tried to do that little finger roll scoop shot, one of those centers would have sent it into the 5th row.

Wilt is no comparison to Jordan. And when you can't even shoot FTs? Sorry. Can't be considered the best of all-time when you can't consistently make uncontested 15 ft shots.

Mr. Kush.

Maybe this is why he began to shut down when he got a little older (like in the "Willis Reed game" when Chamberlain seemed a step slow). He just played SO much and SO well at that.

He played every minute because he was the best.

He took so many shots, not because he was selfish, but because he was UNSTOPPABLE.

He was a man among men when men were men.

There are a lot of things that go in to my ranking of him as the greatest basketball player of all-time (not to mention, the greatest ATHLETE as well). If you would like to have me on your radio show as a guest, i'd be more than happy to go into depth with you and prove decisively why he is what he is.

Great thing about Wilt though, is that his heart? It was bigger than his frame.

He was a giant but a gentle giant - he would let up on guys because he was just too good!

Let me know if you're interested in giving me 10 or 15 mins on the show.

Thanks Kush.

I'd love to have you on. I was planning on doing a show tomorrow. Email me your phone number and let me know what time works for you. kush77@comcast.net. I'm home all day until I leave for work about 3:30p.

I have to ask you about the gentile giant thing. I remember hearing that Wilt would threaten guys who would foul him, like the hack-a-Shaq. Nothing gentile about that.
