1) Ryan Poles more interested in RAS Scores and underwear olympics than football players. If you remember the video of them scouting based on certain traits for certain positions.
2) Ryan Poles obviously controlling the roster and not keeping the best players on the team. All you have to say here is Travis Gipson. Guy was probably our best pass rusher and Poles lets him go for Robinson who hasn't had a sack in over a year. Poles just keeps his guys hoping they will turn out even if they haven't shown any promise. Another good example is Claypool who after the 1st game should have been benched, but instead just has a talking to and back on the field. Poles doesn't want to look bad since plenty of scrutiny about the trade already. Another reason is why is Velus still on the roster
3) Matt Eberflus has obviously lost the team and blames only the players and never blames the coaching or himself. Nobody listens to a coach who has lost 13 straight games and never says that they have to coach better. Listen to good coaches and they will always say that they need to call a better game.
4) Culture with no accountability or consequences. I was really worried this summer when nobody ever seemed to practice.
5) Getsy play calling - I watched a ton of the all 22 clips from the Chiefs game and was appalled at the terrible game plan. The Chiefs pretty much played man to man defense the entire game yet I didn't see any man to man beaters called. Why no rub routes or picks? How about trips formations?
6) Defense never gets off the field. Way too many 3rd and long conversions due to no defensive scheme or play calling. You watch good defenses who blitz corners, safeties, and linebackers when they get teams into 3rd and long and the Bears don't do any of that which is also why almost no interceptions or 3rd down stops ever
7) Special teams kick returns. Still seeing boneheaded plays on kickoffs and punt returns. The only reason that Velus is active is to return kickoffs yet he never even moves to receive the kick let alone return one. Our new punt returners caught a fair catch at our own 5 yd line instead of letting it go into the endzone.
8) Matt Eberflus has no idea when to use his challenges. Key part was 1st drive of the year against the Packers where the Bears went for it on 4th down on their own 40 yd line with the Fields QB sneak. Even the announcers thought that Justin may have made the 1st down. How do you not challenge that?
9) Hire a QB coach with only 1 year of experience on the job who worked with Kirk Cousins and a Offensive Coordinator who worked with Aaron Rodgers and your QB2 is a stiff who doesn't have any game experience. Hence the reason for no QB development
10) Injuries - Okay this one is weak, but the Bears are a mess
