Stan only has himself to blame for the salary cap problems. Zero foresight when giving Rozsival an extra year at 2.2, and giving him a fucking NMC? Jesus Christ. That contract alone cost them Leddy. The Versteeg trade was completely unnecessary given the abundance of forward prospects the Hawks have as well. Especially when you look at the fact that the Hawks are going to have to pay Saad next season....with Versteeg still signed. He's worth league minimum and the Hawks are paying him 2.2 per. When a team as shitty as the Panthers are willing to pay a guy NOT to play for their team, it's pretty fucking damning. Now I see why they did it. Couldn't understand it at the time based on Versteeg's history, but it looks like he will never be the same after the knee injury.</p>

Where have you heard/read he will never be the same? Everything I saw was that he was fully healed and looked really good in training camp.


Why don't we let the guy play a shift into the season before we just assume his knee is going to ruin the rest of his career.
