I think we should trade jaylon johnson.

We got a logjam at corner with Tyrique, terrell smith, kyler gordon, and now a 5th round rookie who is clearly going to take jaylon's job.

Might as well trade jaylon before he starts declining.
How are we not GMs????

Kmet is gone after this season. Moore more than likely has 2 seasons tops. It’s also possible they get rid of him after this season. It’s all depends on how well Odunze and Burden play. Rookie WR’s tend to start slow, so they probably don’t feel comfortable moving him next offseason.

Getting 4 years out of DJ Moore in his prime isn’t a bad thing. It will have been a good run.

We dont even know if they will get rid of kmet

Every bozo told us that swift is basically gonna be relegated to 3rd string and they didnt take a RB till round 7.

Kmet is making 12.5m, its likely he's gone but a "solid" nfl TE is like 4-6m. If ben johnson thinks a 2 TE set is crucial that extra 6m is peanuts. Guys like Tommy Tremble and Luke Farrell make 5m+.

Maybe DJ is gone in 2 years when his dead cap is minimal, but his contract literally lines up to when burden/loveland/rome/caleb all would be extended.

It sounds like people are just trying to trade him to trade him because they saw him pout on the sideline. The odd man out is likely cold cement, and your future 4 skill players are all on the roster while 3 being cost controlled for the next 4 years.

I know we don’t know anything for sure. Part of why this place exists is so we can speculate. Are you proposing we never make predictions?

Based on the draft and watching situations like this play out over and over for multiple teams
throughout my life watching football, it’s pretty easy to see why someone would go there.

I'd rather see the FO try and trade Tremaine Edmunds and a pick for a HB like Breece Hall.

Give Ruben Hyppolite every chance to win the starting WILL LB position and kick TJ Edward's over to MIKE LB..

They need a HB that can force defenses out of man coverage.

Those guys contracts would come up when DJ is basically expiring

They also all play 3 different positions on the offense.

Not sure what is hard to comprehend here. You want to trade a WR in his prime just because?
OMG....Idiot.

I cant see any team wanting to take on tremaine's deal.

Just gotta hope he has a great 2025 in this new scheme, then maybe they can trade his ass next offseason.

My point kinda is that everything big johnson has done so far has been unpredictable.

Nothing about his offense thus far here or in detroit makes me think he wants to throw away weapons just to do so.

Who said I said any different? You’re creating a strawman. When did I ever say people aren’t free to give their opinions?

When I make a prediction that Cole Kmet will
be gone after this season and I am quoted and replied to with “We don’t even know if they will get rid of Kmet” what else am I to assume? Obviously I know that I am not Ryan Poles. My last name isn’t McCaskey. I’m well aware that all of us ultimately can’t predict anything for sure when it comes to the Bears. So why point it out like it’s some trump card in the argument? It’s pointless. He’s basically saying nobody should make predictions here because we can’t say for sure what will ultimately happen. Why even post then? Why should forums on ccs even exist? Go read a book or make a sandwich. BE PRODUCTIVE!!!

I think most of us expect kmet gone next year, writing is on the wall.

However, I also wont be surprised if they keep him. Clearly this offense wont be the same as detoilets offense so hard to even know what ben johnsons big vision is.

i never said you didnt say people werent free to give their opinions. no strawman created. and you are doing the same exact thing you are accusing me of when you say, "When did I ever say people aren’t free to give their opinions?" since you know that i never claimed that was your stance to begin with

i enjoyed reading your rage post, though!

I’m getting a headache trying to piece together this nonsensical drivel. His post was pointless. Your white knighting of his pointless post was pointless. Obviously we all know that we don’t make any decisions when it comes to bears personnel so we can’t say for sure what they’ll do. I don’t need that pointed out to me. It doesn’t mean we can’t speculate though. It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t make educated guesses based on info we have.

Trading cole kmet is a reasonable and logical take

Trading DJ Moore in his prime is something one of the dumbest posters on this forum would bring up :D

So if the bears don't trade DJ Moore is that a good or bad thing?

You seem to say its completely understandable why the bears would trade Moore. Are you going to play both sides of this? It's a win win if the bears either trade him or don't trade him?

I think trading your best offensive player outside of joe thuney is likely a very bad thing.

We dont know if rome, luther and loveland are good nfl players yet and certainly wont know that by the trade deadline.

The speculation all started when we drafted a guy people compared to DJ Moore, when they dont play anything alike outside of YAC ability.

DJ barely has played in the slot and has been a starting X basically his entire career. Luther has barely played the X in his college career. He's more a deebo hybrid. After seeing how ben johnson utilized st brown im not certain why you'd want to trade away the closest player we have on the roster to st browns skillset.
