(In advance, sorry for the lack of detail where I heard the rumor...)

The rumor came from some talk radio station that the Bulls FO may end up waiting until Noah's return, or just before it, to make the following trade:

BULLS send: Deng + Gibson + Bogans + Johnson + Asik

ROCKETS send: Martin + Battier + Patterson (+ Lee, maybe)

BULLS Line-up Update:
PG: Rose/Watson
SG: Martin/Brewer
SF: Battier/Korver
PF: Boozer/Patterson/Scalabrine
C: Noah/Thomas

It was also said that the Bulls FO would look into Free Agency to fill out any further roster needs if that trade was to happen. Non of this is fact at all, that I know of. This deal could be a total front & just a crazy idea by some talk show host.

The adding of either Martin or Lee would be nice. Patterson was looked at by the Bulls, I heard. Also, Battier is a better defender then Deng.

Thoughts?

No thanks. We give up 2 great defensive players in Asik and Gibson + DENG for Martin and those scrubs? No thanks. I hope the Bulls use their brain

we'd get the better player in the deal in martin, but i dont think it's a great idea. asik and gibson is a lot to ask for. martin is often injured, but so is deng. martin is an efficient player that can get his own shot, but battier isn't anything to write home about. he's definitely lost a step. he's not really the portrait of health. we'd be changing from a hole at the sg to a hole at the sf. with the abundance of 3's in the league, i'd say it's a decent trade if we didn't include asik and gibson. with that said, there's no chance it goes through.

In the end, I'm with you on that. I don't see this actually happening either.

I really like Asik and Gibson. They're great energy players. Deng can get the **** out, but Asik and Gibson are just great on the defensive end and they're very good rebounders and they can put up points when given minutes. No thanks

Sounds like rubbish, I doubt that management is looking to make that sort of drastic roster turnover unless it's something a bit more sure fire than Martin.

I do think Martin would be a good pick up in the right trade though, even if he has a bad injury history (certainly worse than Deng). It's going to be tough to win a championship unless you take a risk, especially with the Heat rolling now, and having Miller/Haslem back and the MLE to spend after this season. Sometimes you just hope you get a season where everyone is healthy come playoffs.

I'm not in favor of giving up Asik either......which brings me back to my belief this deal has a very small possibility of even happening.

Martin and Rose could be 45 to 50ppg between them. And nobody at that position gets to the line as much as Martin, except maybe Wade. Battier is a damn good defender, and he can hit threes routinely when open. Intriguing. Martin as your 3rd option offensively is much better than Deng at that spot too. Can't say I know a lot about Patterson though...

If people want to play it safe, do the Minnesota deal...JJ for Ellington. Otherwise...as someone stated, you must take a risk.

korver is getting jipped. bogans played 16 minutes. korver's played 4. start korver! he's just as good on defense, and he's a better shooter.

Very interesting deal, but we lose our front court in this trade. I'd really love to have Martin on the team, but I don't think this helps us out since we lose Gibson and Asik. Boozer, KT, and Patterson up front just won't cut it even though I'm sure Battier could defend the 4 if we played small. Doesn't really make sense for us. Maybe if we kept one of Gibson or Asik and just took back Martin and Battier this might work out better for us, but then Houston doesn't do it. But then again they probably won't do it anyway. xD

yeah i don't understand why they would ship away a lottery pick in patterson and a better player in martin for an injury prone sf that's on a hefty contract and gibson and asik. asik is a decent back up center. gibson isn't an amazing player, but he's on a good contract. plus gibson's playing the same position as their best player.

Yeah, I love to read up on trade rumors...but I dread most of them if they would be true, & then happen. Some trade rumors a ridiculously stupid lol. This one isn't that stupid as it is more confusing why both teams would even agree to it.

If you think Korver is as good on defense as Bogans you need your one good eye examined. Korver might be the worst player defensive wing player getting playing time right now.

yeah, it's a stab at bogans. i'm sick of him getting playtime for his defense, and having mediocre production. if you're being put in for your defense, PLAY FUCKING Spectacular DEFENSE! stop fowling guys going toward the basket. stop letting gibson step into open 3's. stop playing like keith bogans.

Martin never strikes me as a good player. Just better than the rest of his team....and he's been on two SHITTY teams...

Well...Martin is a good player, no doubt about that. He is better than any guard on the team except Rose by quite a sizable margin...and he can get you 40 on any given night...

If we get Lee too then **** yes this deal would push us over the top in the East if Martin stays healthy.
