If this footage/practice is to go by, Fields shouldn't start the first game, based on him holding onto the ball too long. He's got to get that ball out of his hands or he's going to get creamed.

It was a mixed bag as far as holding the ball. Some he got out fast; others not so much. Typical rookie stuff. But if this is where he is at after only a couple of weeks of live practice, if he keeps progressing like he has, I think he still has a ‘chance’ to start week 1.

In the short time that he has been in camp, he is picking everything up quickly and is showing flashes of greatness.

As for starting week 1, I would be surprised if he does... but I would not rule it out -- the kid is a true difference maker.

There is no point wasting resources on a stop gap at this point. Wait until preseason is nearing an end and teams start making cuts and see if people of better quality than Okung become available if things are still unsettled.

Otherwise much rather see what we have in Borom and others.
The only way you sign a tackle now is if you know something about injuries more than you are letting on

I still would not freak out on Tevin Jenkins yet at least injury-wise.
It appears as if they are testing him out to see how he holds up under activity. He did the sled yesterday and they want to see how his back reacts. I think by the end of the week will will know if there is a bigger issue at play.

I think the oline as a whole is an issue talent-wise.

It's never good for rookies to miss reps, but it's better he get healthy than rush him back. If it's a month from now and he's not on the field I'd be concerned. I would think as soon as they pick up the cap room by trading Foles they'll pickup another tackle.

It's gonna be more than days, but less than weeks, which should be less than a month.
