honestly I know your a football smart kind of guy. look at cutlers skillset and explain to me why that no one has built a system that plays too his strengths cutler is a reactionary thrower guys like that need a strong run game and to be rolled out so they get that extra second to see their wide receiver open then throw it.
If used properly cutler could be great. will he still throw picks yes but that's to be expected with a gunslinger yard ball type qb.
Fact is our gm's and coaching staffs up to this point since we have had cutler failed us and jay and I honestly think fox will make it right the question is is it too late? have the bears squandered his best years using him improperly? I think at the end of next season we will all know the answers to these questions
We as fans keep saying that "this will be the year for Cutler" or that "all he needs to do is minimize his mistakes" or "the new OC will actually use Cutler the way he should this year"...and each year we see similar results. Eventually you start to see that the common denominator is Jay Cutler. Since JA traded for Cutler, the Bears are now on their 3rd GM, 3rd HC, and 4th OC. Emery even made it a point to build the offense around him by investing in the o-line, bringing in a WR that has been successful with him, drafting a WR, and giving him a very good receiving TE. Now I'm not going to bullshit you and say each of those OC's have been great, but the fact that year in and year out we keep seeing the same mistakes from Cutler, I just don't think Cutler should be with the team this coming year.
I hope Pace can trade him and get some type of value for Cutler, but if he doesn't than it is what it is. I'll continue to hope I am wrong and that this will finally be the year Cutler puts it together and actually makes it to the playoffs for the second time in his career. A lot of the team's success will fall on Fangio and Pace being able to get some rookies to step in right away on defense and be successful. Most of Cutler's good games have come from great defensive performances. When the defense is generating turnovers he does seem to step it up some and play well. But if the team has to be thrown on his back, he folds like an origami swan.
