And today's Trib full page cover - Start you're March Madness picks

This didn't bother me, only happens once a year and Hawks are on page 3.

However, I don't expect this to last should ND advance. For a school closer to Detroit, they certainly take up their fair share of Trib coverage.

Notre Dame is 90 minutes from Chicago and 3 hours from Detroit, plus they have a graduate school in Chicago.
Many alumni choose to move to Chicago after graduation. The other draw is it being a catholic school and Chicago has a huge population of Catholics.

I wish there was a college in Logansport, because everything in that town is terrible.

One cannot discount this b/c should some local college such as DePaul ever return to glory, I would expect them to have the front page.

Even so, a local kid at Duke before the tourney even begins shouldn't be relegating the Hawks to page 7 after a solid road win.

I get your love for hockey... but really... it's tourney time. And that will always be more popular than standard regular season games. relegating to page 7... probably not, but on the day after selection sunday you aren't going to headline the hawks. You should be complaining more about the top of their webpage still being about eddie royal instead of the hawks. That's the real problem right now. It's not March Madness it's the order of things in general, bulls and hawks are in season they should be above all else yet Bears and Cubs spring are still trumping.

I'd rather have no coverage than Rosebloom

If hockey staying under the mainstream means hacks like Rosenbloom and similar people at ESPN don't get into the discussion of the sport, I've no problem with that.

I understand your point but this still feels like a pipe dream in my mind.

Regarding this topic is one of the few things a "mainstream" radio guy like Dan Bernstein gets right about hockey and media coverage and the fans reaction to it:

"WHY AREN'T YOU TALKIN HAWKEY! DONCHA SEE WHAT KINDA TEAM WE GOT GOING HERE!111!"

covers hockey

"STOP TALKIN' HAWKEY! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT C'HER TALKIN ABOUT!!! YOU DON'T GET IT!!"

Gotta be one or the other, can't be both.

They beat a Sharks team that's falling in the standings. They were supposed to win this game. Handily.
Crawford is playing out of his mind, which should get coverage, but I doubt it will get the print it deserves.
That's why I'm here farting in a small room with the rest of you.

Detroit is more than twice as far away than Chicago is
