If we're talking SyFy actresses, Joanne Kelly from Warehouse 13 takes my cake.

And Supra - all those shows are filmed in Vancouver, what did you expect?

They are?!?!? fucking SyFy. So much better when it was Sci-Fi

Haven is filmed in Nova Scotia, presumably to make the setting seem more "Maine"-ish, but also to avoid the contaminates polluting the air and waters of Vancouver.

Vancouver has alot of "science fiction" tv shows filmed in it, past and present.

I wonder if it annoys them that they always pretend its somewhere in the USA. I know being human is filmed there too, yet the show takes place in Boston. The old Highlander TV show was filmed there (when he was living in the US) in a fictional city called "Seacouver, Washington".

While not SyFy shows - I'm pretty sure both Reapers and Smallville were filmed there, too.

I know Supernatural is/was they've mentioned it before on the DVD extra's (both the leads are from Texas though), plus they scored Tricia Helfer as a guest star for one episode when she had some time free from Battlestar Galactica.

Sam Witwer is actually from the Chicago area, besides the vampire on Being Human he's also had recurring characters on Battlestar Galactica and Smallville, also filmed around Vancouver.

Both Smallville's Kristen Kruek and Battlestar Galactica's Grace Park (also Hawaii 5-0) is from Vancouver though, plus they both starred in Edgemont, which from the little I saw appeared to be some kind of DeGrassi rip-off. Mule might know something about that later show, didn't look like my kind of thing but they aired it in syndication on Chicago's WGN on Sunday mornings. It gave me an extra incentive to get up and go to church was the best thing I could say about Edgemont.

Sherlock was awesome!! (as expected) Benedict Cumberbatch cracks me up and I recently discovered via IMDB that he is going to be the voice of Smaug in The Hobbit so that's cool.

Don't ruin it, cause of your facebook post it reminded me to record it but it was already half over so I had to do it on some alternate channel in the middle of the night, I don't even think it's HD damn it but I'll love it just the same. I hate that PBS lists it on Directv under Mystery Masterpiece, I had to do a keyword search for sherlock to get it to come up. And Sunday at 8! seriously, don't they know how many shows are on right then for my DVR. ohh well can't wait to watch it do you know how many more they have?

If it's anything like last season, it'll be like 3 eps...

Last night before the show started "Nightcrawler" said that there were three episodes or story lines in the second series as well.

Comcast was the same way. They'd announced it at least as early as last week after the second half of "Birdsong" but when I went to set the DVR on Sunday afternoon that evening's time slot was listed as TBA.

I was just flipping channels and that Canadian werewolf movie, Ginger Snaps, was on. I just recognized the one sister as the same actress that plays "Becky" on Supernatural. I just looked her up on IMDB, Emily Perkins is her name and she's also a native of Vancouver.

Man that movie is horrible.

Yeah, the movie was on IFC this time, not SyFy but I didn't leave it on too long before popping in a DVD. It wasn't the character played by Perkins, but the other sister, who was half turned into a werewolf and hitting on this douche at a party. She's pretty gross, being half doggy at the time, and he knows there is some freakiness going on with her but he snogs her anyway before he pushes her off him. The guy probably realized almost too late that he left his milk bones along with his condoms in his other pair of jeans or something. Maybe that's sexy to Canadian teenagers but it's not my cup of tea.

Five years before John Cusack in Must Love Dogs there was this guy...
