@StuGrimson

Post your Twitter accounts (again). Watch out if you follow Jako... you may or may not be disturbed. ;)

I am gonna expose my ignorance here.

I just don't get twitter!

I decided once to follow someone and when I look to see what they where tweeting, it just opens a webpage with their comments on it. Is that all there is to it? Seemed hokey to me so I never bothered with it.

What I expected that I would see was perhaps a desktop widget that would update or do a "toast" popup, when that person updated.

So did I serious miss something?

IMO, it's best not to use Twitter for its original purpose which was all that personal, "What are you doing?" crap between friends and whatnot and it's better for what it has morphed into which is a very handy and succinct blog aggregator. Don't overthink it and simply remember that it's only micro-blogging at 140 characters or less. IMO, it's best for following a subject or topic or something and subscribing to things that would update you about it since most blogs, media websites, etc. link to their updates via their tweets. Probably 90% of the accts I follow are book related and then I use Twitter as a blog aggregator instead of subscribing to a million RSS feeds or having to log into a feed reader app. It's exceedingly handy for that.

I like regular Twitter, but a lot of people like Tweetdeck and apps like that--sits on your desktop and tweets pop up as they happen.

Though, it really doesn't make any sense to follow me unless you follow Jako (@jakobeast), BeastKeeper, and Maryo too - because I really only use Twitter to get CNN updates, Hawks updates and make fun of Jako.

A lot of us use it in lieu of GDT or chat during Hawks games.

Was also great during last year's July 1st free agent frenzy.

It's true. You really have to follow all of us. Then once you see it, you realize how dumb we are, and the veil is lifted. You will then decide we are not as awesome as we believe, and you will hire hit men to kill us.

why do so many people think their lives are so interesting that they need to give several status updates per day?

I logged into my Gmail this morning and went... "who the hell is alexbsmith?" - then I realized. :)

When I get new people following me on Twitter - half the time it's adult websites trying to lure me in and the other half of the time it's people from these boards who's names I just don't know... it's really the only excitement in my life.

Hahahah, Awesome! Yeah, when I first started my Twitter, I only followed porn stars, musicians and sportswriters. Now i'm attempting domination of twitterverse a la Ashton Kutcher (also known as @aplusk, if anyone wants to follow him lol)
