No way. Teague's stock is low.

Trade him when his stock is higher, which should be as early as mid-season when teams can reassess needs.

He's gotta show he can actually contribute before he's worth anything that might be a lotto pick imo.

if they gave an unprotected first, sure, but nobody will give that, imo. His depth is too valuable this year, its time to see what he can do.

Teague has a lot of potential...we forget he'd be entering his Jr year at Kentucky right now if he were still in school.

I'd rather stash Teague on the bench for another year unless the Jazz somehow gave up their 1st next year for him (they won't).

Good thought.
I was thinking the same thing.
Teague has a lot of potential to become a decent player. He has the skillset to do so.
With PaxGar's demands for Thibbs to rest players and taking it easy on Rose's minutes, Teague will likely get playing time.
With playing time, scouts from other NBA teams will have more opportunity to see what this kid can do.
Teague's value could definately rise by midseason just like you posted.
Especially if Kirk suffers injury problems like he has the last 3 or 4 seasons.......Then Teagues minutes would increase more with the opportunity to increase his value.

guys on RealGM are saying ship teague for a 2nd rounder

imma pull a Pax on this one and standpat for now...i think he could get us a better return in the future than a 2nd....which realistically is all we could get right now unless some GM really believes in him and has a 1st to spare

He had a mid-1st round grade coming out -- IIRC, the Bulls didn't work him out, and took him when they "didn't expect him to even be an option" at that point in the draft. I can't imagine he's not worth a late 1st for some team...but I agree w/ the masses - don't sell low.

I think the kid is garbage. Picks up his dribble all to often, cant run a simple screen and roll, has trouble getting the ball in the post and cant shoot! I dont think a contender has time to waste with a project

He's 20 years old, and has gotten virtually no playing time in the NBA. He'll be a good player, he'll stick around the league for a several years. His first step is ridiculous quick, and when he learns rotations of teammates and how to get around his defender, he'll be a good little player.

If someone wants to give up a first, even protected for a year, ship him out now. He's not going to gain in value because the third point guard behind an MVP isn't going to play enough to show any team he's improving so his stock isn't going to rise. He's played some in the pre season, yeah Rose is at 22 minutes per game not the 36 he's going to play and Hinrich will take the other 12 and more at the 2. The fall back is Mike James and by the time rosters get cut down when the season starts there will be plenty of inexpensive PGs who can fill a need ready and willing to sign on a championship contending team.

Teague was a good pick when they made it, maybe one of those best player on the board moves when PG really wasn't a need. If some other team sees him as a possible contributor now is the time to cash in on the investment and trade him. Another team can tradea first round pick for him and sell that move as getting a young talented PG who has been coached by Thibs and mentored by Rose and Hinrich in practice plus he has playoff experience.

Looking a year or two down the road, when Deng and Boozer are gone, Butler moves to the 3, Snell maybe moves in as a starter at the 2, Hinrich is retired, Mirotic maybe shows up that's when that Charlotte pick pays off big time and an extra first would come in handy. And even if Teague really improved, wouldn't he still be playing 12 minutes a game as the backup point guard to Derrick. Because you're just not going to play them together very often with some combination of Snell, Butler and new big 2 guards at that spot. Neither of them is the defender Kirk is at either spot.

I'd be okay with the FO trading Teague, but like most have said I'd want fair value. I don't see him being much more than a backup for us though, so if trading him can improve the team then I'm for it.

Don't really think Utah has anything I'd go for player wise (that could be realistically offered).

As for Minnesota, Dieng is someone I'd want to backup Noah. Teague and maybe a second rounder and I'm on board.
