Over the course of the next few weeks, I'm going to conduct a series of polls to determine who the absolute best of the best is from each League, and then we'll have a vote to see who we all think would win between the best of the AL and the best of the NL in a 5 game series (due to having 5 SPs). This list will be viewed as these teams will play THIS YEAR...so we don't have to worry about projecting players for future seasons or basing solely off past accomplishments.

We are going to start with Starting Pitchers in the AL and NL. Please Vote accordingly...top 5 advance. Due to the ridiculous number of quality starters, this will not be a typical poll. You will type out your top 5, and I'll compile the #s after a couple days. Please select exactly 5 from each league.

The following list is just to jog your memory. It is NOT a limited list.

NL:
Roy Halladay - Phi
Cliff Lee - Phi
Cole Hamels - Phi
Tim Hudson - Atl
Tommy Hanson - Atl
Jair Jurrgens - Atl
Carlos Zambrano - Chi
Yovani Gallardo - Mil
Zack Grienke - Mil
Josh Johnson - Fla
Clayton Kershaw - LA
Tim Lincecum - SF
Matt Cain - SF
Other - Write In

AL:
Jared Weaver - LA
Dan Haren - LA
Trevor Cahill - Oak
James Shields - TB
David Price - TB
Jon Lester - Bos
Josh Beckett - Bos
CC Sabathia - NY
Phil Humber -Chi
Justin Verlander - Det
Felix Hernandez - Sea
Fausto Carmono - Cle
Francisco Liriano - Min
Other - Write In

I don't really understand what you are doing, it is too hard to give a subjective vote for other "quality" pitchers because there might be some people who aren't watching other teams. Roy Halladay is above and beyond the best pitcher in the game. It isn't even close.

I don't even want to vote for anyone else because it will give them votes, so I guess if you want to tally votes for a poll, I will go

NL
1. Roy Halladay
2. Who knows? I guess Josh Johnson
3. Who knows? I guess Lincecum
4. Who knows? I guess Cliff Lee
5. Who knows? I guess Clayton Kershaw

AL
1. Who knows? King Felix
2. Who knows? Jared Weaver
3. Who knows? I guess Lester
4. Who knows? I guess Sabathia
5. Who knows? I guess Verlander

None of it matters, Halladay is the best pitcher in MLB, far and above anyone else in either league. It isn't even close, we are watching something special. The amount of pitches in his arsenal and the way he knows how to pitch every single fucking hitter is unmatched in this era. I really shouldn't of even voted for any of the other pitchers because they aren't in his class but I don't want to look like a Special person.

Relax Bro. Just a fun little thing on a msg board. No one willl "look like a Special person" unless they make fun of some one else's opinions.

geez, lay off the coffee :p

X, are we allowed to vote for guys that won't pitch this year like Wainwright? If so, I'm changing my Jaime Garcia vote to Wainwright.
