How is it confirmed though? Its just Will Carroll who by all means has a lot of credibility, but by means is this "confirmed" its still just a rumor, and one I honestly don't believe. I cannot imagine in any way they would name a manager without at least speaking to Girardi.

The time arrangement is off....because of the playoffs and the high possibility the Yanks go nack to the WS. Also, we don't know....maybe the Cubs have recieve signs that Joe will not be the manager.

Also, I have seen Carroll stuff before and he has been right. He was with Baseball America.

I heard that too; so this could be their plan to get both on the team. Quade gets like a 2 year contract and this way Sandberg will get expierence on the bench and will take over when Quade's contract is up.
