It's about that time again!

Booked a three night getaway to Las Vegas in September. Got rental car, great flight, and MGM for three nights for around $700. Need some time alone with the lady with no kids! Plan on sleeping late, playing poker, eating some fine food and drinking some fine wine, and hopefully getting a massage or two. A couple of questions:

1. Anyone ever stayed at MGM? Does it still have a good poker room? Action?

2. Any shows you'd recommend? I'm thinking about the MJ show, but tickets are expensive.

3. Any restaurants that specialize in seafood you've been to? Hands-on experience here would be great. I can google quite well.

VEGAS BABY!

Celebrity chef, this is true and I do see why one might think this way. But, additionally, he has a 3 srar Michelin restaurant in London that has held three stars since 2001. That's throwing some serious heat. I'm not sure his (American?) tv persona does him any favors. Unless you consider the free publicity and money.

The Brit versions of his shows are about 1 million times better. But American TV being god awful, steaming crap is a whole 'nother topic

I've spent a lot of time in Vegas but it was for work so I will leave the gambling aspect to others. When I did gamble it was never on the strip. Horrible odds. I found out where the locals went to and gambled there.

I highly suggest you take one evening and go enjoy the Fremont Street Experience. They do the light show every hour after dusk and they have added a zip line in the last few years. There is also a guy who plays a mean saxophone on Freemont

If your not familiar with Vegas Freemont Street is where all of the original casinos are. Older but the odds there are a lot better than the strip for gambling.

Freemont is full of gambling addicts and freaks... if you can get past that it has some interesting stuff.

Depending on when you go down there you will see crack whores, pimps, drug dealers, bickers and street gangs (no colors allowed). Never a good place for kids under 14, after 2AM not a good place for timid adults. If you stay under the canopy, you're safe, too much money being made to let anyone get hurt. Now if you head down an alley to buy some weed or get your dick sucked, you are on your own.

I love it down there, my kinda place. One night in 2007 I partied all night with former Bull Quintin Dailey, he was like the unofficial Mayor of DT, everybody new and loved the guy. The man had some stories. RIP

Yes I was well aware of Q's legal problems.

His American persona is his actual persona in the kitchen. He was infamously brutal to his staff, the ultimate perfectionist. He was trained by the original asshole chef, Marco Pierre White. But I love everything he's done.
