The Bears already have one washed up former NY Giant WR. No need for another.

Not gonna happen. He's done. This was painfully obvious last season in NY.

So this one is curious for me. I don't think its a foregone conclusion that Cruz is done. He had the knee injury in 2014 and it was a bad one. Often WR's don't' recover. This led to overcompensating in 2015 and he hurt his calf and missed the season. Last year it was a question if he'd make the Giants team.

Cruz was healthy and active for 15 games last year. And he was playing better at the end of the season. Had a good game against Philly.

But there was a bit more to the story.

This is a good read - Giants Wasted Healthy Season from Victor Cruz

It sounds like he was healthy but just getting limited reps due to his contract. And he has a huge chip on his shoulder with something to prove.

It's certainly possible, maybe likely that he's just not 100%, but if he is healthy and angry, he could easily end up getting a lot of snaps. And of course, he came to the Bears because he has to know this WR group isn't super talented so he'll get opportunities.

he is a waste of a roster spot....we have a ton of WR's .....we need to stick with youth not an injury prone veteran.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Michigan Wolverines
  2. Ohio Bobcats
It feels like his season is a tryout for every WR on the roster. I wouldn't be surprised if the plan right now is to get a dynamic receiver next year, and use this season to decide who is the 2, 3, etc.

Which, conveniently enough, mirrors our CB situation.

If he looks like he can play, we have room in camp for him. Would be a prove it contract.
