The quarterback situation in Minnesota has rapidly gone from bad (Brett Favre) to worse (Tarvaris Jackson) to possibly ugly (undecided.)

Vikings interim head coach Leslie Frazier said Tuesday Jackson’s status for Monday’s game against the Bears is “in jeopardy” because of turf toe. Frazier did not sound optimistic about Jackson and mentioned Joe Webb could get first team reps on Thursday.

Frazier also said they are looking at 8 different quarterbacks outside the organization that could possibly start the game. (Florio mentioned Patrick Ramsey is one of them.)

The most optimistic part of Frazier’s press conference was surprisingly regarding Brett Favre’s status. Frazier sounded hopeful Favre could will play again, possibly this week. An ultrasound on Favre’s shoulder and neck came up negative. Injured reserve is not currently an option for Favre.

People are saying maybe Jeff Garcia? I guess they have no faith in Joe Webb.. I understand they have no shot @ the playoffs and this is a rivalry game, but why not just start the 3rd string QB? I don't get it. Any thoughts?

Nah, Bears will win. No question.

Jackson is a wimp. He plays one game and gets injured. This from a guy who's been in the same locker room as Favre for 2 years? Cut the toe off, tape it up and play. Man up! Prima donnas

Because they want to beat us. I bet they sign Garcia and he has a career game against us.

Yeah only obvious answer there.. but idk if Garcia will have a career game against us.. where is he anyways the CFL right now?

Plus you do then need a signed backup if not instant starter if TJ and Favre can't even backup.

Jeff Garcia played this fall for the Omaha Nightowls of the UFL. Dante Cullpepper is also a mentioned option and he played for whatever team Dennis Green was coaching in the UFL this year.

Vikings have said Culpepper is not an option (Or atleast wasnt as of yesterday)...I dont get how they could sign anyone who would start who could be could enough to get in sync with receivers and actually have a good game against Bear D that will need to redeem itself and I expect the D to be on top of their game. In reality I just expect alot of carries for AP. With that, AP needs to be our complete focus.

After signing another overaged QB, Vikings QB Depth Chart = AARP :) On a sarcastic note, they should go after one of the 'expert' QBs on ESPN, like Trent Dilfer. :)

Dear sweet Jesus. Dilfer would probably turn down a contract if we were the first team he had to play against...Urlacher would kill him.

kill...

Seeing as how they don't need to worry about a QB they can put 11 men in the box.

They signed Ramsey. Seems most likely Favre will start again though. The game is going to be a joke.

Just give em Collins
Dont think they'd take him for free lol. Besides, after his performance when Cutler was out, that'd be another situation where our D would kill a QB :)
