Probably going Saturday with some folks. How crowded has it been for those that have gone?

Your wifey didn't have much info - when/how are we doing this?

I have some Sunset Riders playing time to get it.

The question is, I mean this is great an nostolgic... but how do you get people who have never played these games, to come and play, and enjoy it? Seems like a bit of a limited business model with a decreasing customer base as we get older, or married and kids... (IE no money, no time)

She is sitting an open house Saturday till like 1 or so. Not sure when she would want to head down there and how long we will stay.

So you invite everyone out and then make it seem like you don't want anyone to come? Shit or get off the pot, man.

That brings up a good point. I went there, and I have never heard of or have played half of those games but oved it. I did grow up playing video games, like alot of people have since the 80's/90's, and theres not places around like this one, and I think it will attract all people young and old who are in to games. That being said it probabbly woulden't attract very many people with a busy family life style who don't have very much extra money, but as we get older, there will just be a new batch of young people to go and play them, no matter how old the games are.

But do you think that younger patrons can be attracted in a day and age of 3d gaming by 8 bit graphics? Can people be nostalgically attracted by something they never experienced?

Nostalgically? Probably not. But I could see a bunch of gamers appreciating the simpleness of these games. I always enjoy playing Pong, but never played it when it was around, as I wasn't around.

I had a great time there last weekend. Got to beat Sunset Riders and CarnEvil (easy to do when you have unlimited continues). The $15 is probably pretty fair when you start to think about all the "continues" you're using. The place is a little more cramped than I would have preferred, but they do have quite a selection. I was disappointed to find out the pinball machines weren't out (in particular because they have the Twilight Zone one) but at the same time, I don't know where they would have the room for them.

For folks in my generation, definitely worth a trip if you are or ever were a gamer. Nostalgia aside, sometimes it's just fun to play a game that doesn't take 100 hours to complete... or just get a couple of buddies and wreak a little havoc on Off-Road.

I got the money, asshole.

I had a really good time there. I will go back and probably a few times. I am in no way a gamer, never will be, but there is just something about the old consoles and such.

Plenty of nerds there, and plenty of non nerds.

As for younger kids, when we got there, there were a good amount of young kids there. A few parents with kids that have probably have no idea there was a thing called Nintendo 64, let alone the ole 8 bit system. Arcades and video games I think transcend age. It's entertainment.

The problem with this for me is I can stay home and play Wii or Xbox if I wanted. Well, first I would have to get a Wii or Xbox, but you know what I am saying. I mean, the idea of get a few buddies together and play CoD or Halo in one room does sound like fun, and to top it off have a few beers or what have you is tantalizing, I can do that at home cheaper. And with better booze. And no pants.

Ugh, I wish you were fucking kidding.

And the problem is that you always say you're never going to get one of these systems... and I don't have the room (or TV like you do) to have folks over to play games like that.

I am trying to get you to buy me one of those systems. Duh.

I do have 2 controllers and many games. I only take my pants off if I've been drinking... so I probably won't be wearing pants either.

Because I'm Pantless J, duh.
