I would never have known about this thread had you not tagged me. I usually only visit B&I and the Bears board.
@ursamajor I'm still cool with Spartan, just a little weirded out by him going all MAGA after covid.
I’ll be honest I don’t know why the legit MAGA base is so against the poke. I’ve never seen Trump do anything but brag about the vaccines, so it makes no sense to me.
I know you think I’m a hardcore MAGA hat wearing, Trumper, but I’m not. I just didn’t hate him, and get sucked into the hysteria. And I will freely admit that he had some serious flaws. But I’m not into intersectionality. Economy, foreign policy, and specifically black issues is all I put a real priority on.
And before you mention BLM, I was all about it, in the early days of the movement back in Ferguson, but I knew that it, like really every other black civil rights movement outside of the Nation of Islam, would get hijacked by “white liberals, beatnik in appearance”. Case in point, Kenosha. You have a dumb white kid, who gets into a shootout with 3 other white guys, one who was dropping n-bombs like he was Nathan Bedford Forrest reincarnated, another, just a run of the mill hipster, and a third guy that was so white, with maybe the whitest last name in the history of white people, and if he himself were anymore white, he would’ve been clear…so white that he’ll sunburn from a 60 watt lightbulb…and everyone carries on like the kid committed a hate crime. All because a bunch of white kids, wanted to burn shit down, in a city that is far whiter than the national average, but do so, while saying “Black Lives Matter”. To me, it was just some white on white violence. I am not saying it, to offend you, just giving my honest opinion.
But I will also admit, I did enjoy Trump’s shit-tweeting. Not because I thought it was some deep, thought provoking shit, but simply for the dick-ripping that would ensue. And while his lying over the most mundane stuff was tiresome, as was his puffery, his honesty/breaking of kayfabe of the shit everyone else would lie about (for example his “we can’t sanction Saudi Arabia because we’re selling them a bunch of guns” comment over the state murder of Khashoggi) was refreshing..and I (perhaps naively) thought that MAYBE it would wake normies up to the bullshit America does overseas, with its allies, and these endless wars. But I don’t think that will happen. Everyone just wants to “get back to brunch”.
